Official statement from TWIP regarding the secret wording in the article:

Hey you guys! Some of the wording in the article created a bit of ruckus. Can I describe the ruckus? As you wish. I got a call on my phone home – er, home phone. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who said it was article was worded to secretly hint at the theme. To that I have no comment.

I enjoyed sharing my deeproot tour experience with you, it was my first time to deeproot. First time me, first time you. Now I’m gonna make a like a tree, and get out of here. Yippie-Ki-Yay! Be excellent to each other!

Nothing to do with the 80s, man. Try 1978.

70s were a way better decade anyway, don't know why they want to waste time with any of this 80s crap.

well... while true "78" all those movies sure were in heavy rotation on HBO etc... etc... back in the 80's

An ET license? What could possibly go wrong?

Also, please make the game for ALL THREE movies. But also only make from the first.

Also here’s 39 other things you have to do or I’ll be disappointed in this hypothetical release.

Got all that deep root? Thanks!

    Quoted from toyotaboy:

With that said, I am ALL in on a BTTF pinball. The data east I own is shallow, but I LOVE the theme.
I hope they try to impliment some of the ideas from pinball FX (spinning license plate, flux capacitor toy)
If they were smart, they'd take a cue from data east time machine
1885 - raw sounds like wood creaks, maybe horses clopping in the background
    1955 - bell chimes, 50's music
1985 - early solid state beeps, cheesy rock and roll
2015 - Full blow stereo sound package

    Flux capacitor...fluxing.

I don't care what the theme is or how good the game is. As long as Jpop is on the payroll, I will never take this company seriously or consider giving them even one penny of my money.

Wait. You won’t support a company because JPOP is on the payroll even if it’s a game he’s not involved in? but you’ll support and buy a Trudeau game?

We’ve focused on Munsters and Beatles coming next from Stern for so long, we’ve lost track of Brian Eddy’s theme - Jaws. < — “speculation”

What if it were ready to go and Stern decided to release it next? Maybe Jaws is the title Kaminkow hinted he helped getting the license for Stern to design, build and begin delivering prior to year end? I think Beatles would still release in Jan and Munsters would be moved to Mar, ahead of TPA.

Munsters to go head to head with whatever deeproot brings to TPA. Which helps explain why Eddy Munster is appearing a gamers convention around that time. We know Stern can make any pinball it announces. We’ll learn what Deeproot has to say.

Can’t believe people actually admitting willingness to blind buy something from a company that’s done nothing but hire the criminal Jpop as long as it has a license they like.

    No one has learned anything.

    #79 8 months ago

Can’t believe BTTF can get made for, essentially, the third time and This is Spinal Tap can’t get made once.

    #80 8 months ago

I am excited to see what is in store for this company. It's always cool to see how these new start ups go through the design and implementation of themes. I'm in Texas often and I am certainly a buyer for my route. Cant wait to hear details.

I'm not aware of any other BTTF pinball besides data east unless you're counting digital. If that were the case, Star Wars has been made about 2 dozen times.

We don’t need another lecture from anyone telling us what to do or how to spend our $$$

We are all quite aware of the past

And I don’t see anyone giving DR a DIME

It’s clear they have the funding to NOT need it

All I see is them trying to rectify a bad situation and make pinball machines

To taint these guys with the stench of others is complete BS. Jpop or not

Maybe so. But life goes on. And it’s too short to harbor hate

Just because Jpop works there, and I’m on the record as being one of his biggest critics, isn’t going to keep me or others from buying a pinball machine from DR

    That’s actually ridiculous imo

Let the guy who takes his car to an auto shop where one of the mechanics got acquitted of armed robbery on a technicality and never paid back a cent of it be the first one to throw stones.

Ice, SKB’s one of the good guys. Cool out a little, willya? DeepRoot actually sounds really interesting these days. But if their game turns out to be like Thunderbirds I’m just gonna laugh my ass off. Robert has a huge ego.with his ego, and the staff he’s assembled, his games better be GOOD. Otherwise this has been an epic prick tease.

Skb is def one of my favorite dudes here, the other guy isn’t.

Yes Robert has come off like a prick and many hope that he fails because of it. I guess if I was rolling the dice with $13 million of other peoples money I’d sound a bit confident too

Remains to be seen and yes 100%, if it turns out like Thunderbirds there is going to be hell to pay!

He has staff and money. Can they make great pinball? Let’s see

Bottom line, they aren’t asking for a dime from us so other than Jpop and his attitude, what’s not to like?

    #94 8 months ago

Is deeproot asking for money? I don't get it. Why are some people puffing out their chest saying they are not giving them a dime? They are not asking for any money. Let's just see what they have to sell when it is available and make a decision based on the product.

    #95 8 months ago
    Quoted from misterschu:

obviously this thread is a lot of speculation, but just going from the survey TWIP did about dream themes, it could also be Goonies, Big Trouble in Little China, Princess Bride, Beetlejuice, Labyrinth, Blade Runner, Predator or Blues Brothers. All on their dream theme results lists, all movies from the 80s.

    .

Beetlejuice is getting rereleased for it's 30th anniversary. I would be fine with any of these themes, but Princess Bride and Goonies would be my top picks

If you hate Jpop, don't buy the game he is designing. I am a fan of Steve Bowden, Norris, Nordman, Oursler and Thiel. Deeproot also made restitution offers to those affected by Jpop where they totally didn't have to. I'm over it.

    #99 8 months ago

Is there anyway to find out if a licence has been bought for BTTF ?

    #100 8 months ago

I’d like to see Goonies get made!
