Quoted from RCA1:Get multiball going on Black Hole and you've accomplished something.
Yup. This. I think I've gotten multiball 3 times since I owned the game

You bastard. Just sell it to me already.
Quoted from pinballjj:Played jjp gnr over the weekend, ball one start song sweet child of mine, very cool then a multi ball starts oh yeah! Then liberal ball saves and I think maybe another muitiball with more ball saves turns into like a 10 minute mb fiesta, crazy just flipping away, my hands hurt and finally it ends and I am tired and want to play a different machine.
shouldn't some special multiball level be left in reserve for an actual wizard mode ?
Default settings on GNR are very generous with multiball and ball savers and I understand why; casual guests that play mine have a hard time getting into a song with more than 1 ball and surviving more than 30 seconds.
When guests leave, I crank up the difficulty on these multi balls and generous ball savers. But, it still is one of the more multiball heavy games around; going from 4 balls down to 1 ball up to 3 balls down to 1 ball up to 5 balls is certainly a blast with that code especially with the high risk/reward. So adjusting the settings certainly helps a lot and makes you explore more of what the game offers.
Quoted from DanMarino:I've never played Black Hole yet. Is the multi-ball more difficult than Flight 2000?
imo yes!

Two separate levels and lower is backwards, a good multiball for me last about 10 seconds
Quoted from Pinstein:I think Black Hole has the hardest to achieve multiball in pinball.
Have you tried Elektra?
Quoted from frenchmarky:Surprised somebody hasn't made a game which actually serves two balls to the shooter every time, or after you shoot it shoots a second ball out automatically from a subway kicker or something. Just give the player multiball at the start and see what he can do with it. First ball drains and then it just reverts to one ball scoring.
Judge Dredd. Supergame.
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Have you tried Elektra?
Just a few times. I cant recall how hard it was to get multiball. I owned a BH for 6 mo. or more and never got multiball.

Seconded. Details on GnR are geared for super casual players . For serious home players there are lots of tweaks available in settings.
I was playing multiball before there was multiball. I worked at swim club in 1974 and could play pinball free on the 60's Gottlieb games. I'd just push all three balls into the shooter lane and let it rip.
Quoted from kdunbar:Two separate levels and lower is backwards, a good multiball for me last about 10 seconds
And then there's the BAD multiball where you can't complete either of the lower drop target banks and you're forced to watch both balls down there get shot up the tube and flushed right down the drain!
Quoted from Doctor6:You bastard. Just sell it to me already.
I can't let it go, its too fun even though its slower than molasses
Quoted from DanMarino:I've never played Black Hole yet. Is the multi-ball more difficult than Flight 2000?
Locking the upper ball after enabling the lock isn't bad, the second lock buried in the bowels of the second playfield is harder.
Just picked up my second Black Hole after letting the first go a year or two ago, enjoyed playing again immensely.
I actually pulled off multiball TWICE and got my ass handed to me on the second round.

Wow 2 of the most brutal games around. At least one of them is fun!
Quoted from Haymaker:I can't let it go, its too fun even though its slower than molasses
Take the front legs off you noob.
Quoted from Doctor6:Take the front legs off you noob.
I threw some 2 x 4 blocks under the rear legs for awhile; Black Hole went from "I'm kicking your ass" to "you must die in the worst way possible" fastest damn widebody I have ever played.
Quoted from Hayfarmer:Play gnr. Im not sure it has a single ball mode
So pretty much like every JJP game then?
Quoted from Mtkst19:Look into gottlieb spring break. It is the oprah of multiball.
3 ball game.
Dipswitch 31 ON starts the game with
3 balls per game: 2 balls on ball 1, 3 balls on ball 2 and 4 balls on ball
3.
On a 5 ball game: 2 balls on ball 1, 2 balls on ball 2, 3 balls on ball 3, 3
balls on ball 4, 4 balls on ball 5.
Dipswitch 31 OFF releases all 4 balls on the first ball in play only.
1 ball is released on every subsequent balls.
In the game you can shoot the 1, 2 and 3 targets to light "release a ball".
Which alternates on 3 rollovers, and one being "release all balls".
In the later rom version it was changed. Setting dipswitch 31 to off gives you single ball launches on each of the three balls. To start multi ball you have to hit the 1-2-3 drop targets and roll over either of the lit release ball switches that change with the pop bumpers to add a ball. You can repeat the 1-2-3 and rollover to add more balls, or roll over the release all balls switch on the right inlane while lit for a 4 ball multi ball.

Gottlieb Going Nuts does this, serves three balls onto the playing field.
