That was intentional. It was a resource intensive site feature that wasn't essential, so it was temporarily disabled.
Since it looks like things have been going well so far, I'm sure it will return soon.

Ok, I just heard from Robin about the emails. It sounds like if you have a Microsoft email address (outlook, hotmail, etc), the notification emails aren't getting through right now, but the issue should hopefully be resolved soon.

Try doing a hard refresh in your browser (on iOS, just tap the refresh button next to the address bar). There was change with the image server, which seems to have caused some of the avatars to go missing (including mine in your screenshot). A refresh should fix that.
Beyond that, there were unfortunately a small number of avatar images that went missing during the site outage, but hopefully they can be recovered once there is access to the original server. I don't know when that will be, though.

Try a hard refresh. All the fonts in your screenshot look wonky.

Wait, so you're altering things in your browser? Pinside now had a built-in dark mode, so you don't have to flip colors around. That's what could be the problem.
