baby pacman trembling flipper

just finishing fixing the light driver board on baby pacman and now something new.. the left flipper is trembling when held like flipping repeatedly and generally causing the playfield to brighten as well. is replacing the flipper coil going to be the likely solution here or would this be caused by something else? thanks!!

Could be the coil, but check that your EOS switch and cabinet flipper switch are gapped properly and not pitted.

Just FYI, that's sometimes referred to as a chattering flipper. You may see more search results using that term.

A chattering flipper is caused by an open holding coil. Carefully examine the coil and see if one of the smaller coil wires has broken off the lug. If that's the case you can sometimes unwind the wire a small amount and reattach it. Otherwise you'll need to replace the coil.
