How hot? compare it to the one on the other side, if one is getting much hotter then the next. Something in the rebuild phase did not go correct… like EOS is not in alignment

Eos or cab switch with too much gap can cause this issue. As far as wired wrong I can't say. But if the eos shows up in the test menu as working then it's safe to say it's probably k
I would say it's a great place to start. See if you can see the difference between the good one and bad one. I would start with the eos. i had a flipper do this with a very pitted can switch. If you can't see a gap difference swap the switch and see if it changes
