At a loss at this point. After working well last week and then blowing a couple of fuses I am no longer able to get the communications transmissions test screen to fire in test mode. Nothing else has changed but the next time I turned it on to start working on it, it didn't work. We replaced fuses and I have tested the solenoid diodes/resisters and all are good. We noticed last night that the new MPU board light test is only flashing an initial flash and then 5 additional flashes which is 1 or 2 short of what it is supposed to be doing with a long pause between the first 3 and the final 3. Any thoughts? My next step is going to be to put on all new connectors but want to see if anything has any thoughts first.

Does anyone know why the new MPU board light test does not flash the correct number of times? Is there a specific item that would lead to this?

Bally boards use .1" pitch connectors. The links in your post are .156 pitch (much bigger). You want items from this area:

Get the bag of 100 pins for $5

The housings of the sizes on the boards. Some of the really long connector housings are hard to find and you will need to make them up from 2 housings. To be thourough, you should get the keying plugs too.

I would recommend this crimping tool if you don't have one. link »
