This is an odd but small issue. The Knight lights on my bk2k don't seem to turn off and on at the correct times. In other examples I've seen of this game this isn't an issue. See the video for what I mean. They all work but they do not seem to go fully out before coming back on and feel somewhat out of sequence because of this. Please see the attached video and pictures of the lamp sockets. I have tired with both regular blubs and leds with no real change. Currently incandescent bulbs are installed. I'm wondering if the diodes on these sockets are bad or something... any help would be appreciated.

I do have LA-2 roms installed (I think the newest are L4) not sure if that makes any difference.

Yikes it actually looks like something is pretty jacked up in my lamp matrix. I'm looking at the schematic and it looks like everything goes to the interconnect board but im not sure which header and pins to begin with. Video incoming with the major lamp matrix issues.

So in doing some more observation it looks like column six has some sort of issue. Everytime any column or row is lit the same row in column six lights. So if lets say R im Ransom is lit then G in Knight is lit. If N in Ransom is lit then T in Knight is lit but its all the way across so if right outlane is lit the N in knight is lit. What really bugs me is in test if I select k n i g h t in lamp test none of them light. I wonder if someone by passed something due to an issue with the CPU. GRUMPY any ideas?

Looks like Q56 has been replaced and looks like they lifted some traces/ did a shitty job. If Q56 was locked on would that explain this? Can I test that in circuit?

Here is the link to the YouTube video showing the issue in greater detail. Any ideas?

Removed Q56 and no more issues with the lights. Me and a buddy of mine found they had replaced a tip42 with a tip42c he seemed to think either the tip42c didn't have the right tolerance so it was locking on or the tip42c was just bad. As a note the traces were in pretty rough shape >. < . Does anyone else know can you replace a tip42 with a tip42c theu are different voltages and amperage so it makes sense if they wouldn't.

I got my parts today and reinstalled the Tip42 but for some reason Q56 is still being turned on all the time. I think at this point it might be time to of this sent out.

Your problem is likely upstream, either Q55 or U52. You can test Q55 in-circuit with a DMM. See the following link for testing (game off):

http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=General (just search for 2N6427)

You could also test the voltages at the two points I circled and compare to a working circuit. This is a pulsed circuit and best tested with a logic probe, but you should be able to spot the problem with a DMM.
