Quoted from f3honda4me:

Anyone know what payment methods spooky accepts for final payment?

I got this from them last week:

“We take many different forms of payment Credit cards, check, cash, wire transfer, and yes we do use Square”

Submitted build sheet for 159

#4483 3 years ago
Quoted from LoneStarPinball:

Woke up to a belated birthday present. #156 is now paid in full. (for those keeping score) Not sure how long between Paid in full, and shipping date. But getting excited. I've been avoiding watching reviews, or demos online. so as to not spoil it for myself.

Congrats! I ordered through pinballstar too and also paid in full for #159 this morning. Can’t wait!!

Is the glass that comes on RAM anti reflective?

#4799 3 years ago
Quoted from newovad:

I haven't updated because I'm just taking the info that people post in the R&M threads. No one has posted anything since I updated. However, if you are suggesting I put a date behind each item as it is updated, I can do that. I just updated the ratings today.

I’m #159 and paid on 7/20 and posted in the thread. Unfortunately no shipping notification yet.

#4810 3 years ago
Quoted from newovad:

That's weird because #158 paid in full on 7/29. If you guys are both through the same distributor, someone might have sat on that invoice for a bit.

I believe that #151-#160 got the same email on 7/20. I paid that day.

#4955 3 years ago

Any new machines delivered last week?

#5003 3 years ago
Quoted from LoneStarPinball:

Did you get the same email I did today? Based on who it was from, and the subject line. I thought it was the email I had been waiting on, but alas no.

I did and was disappointed, I thought this was it too... but instead it said "ship in next few weeks"

#5079 3 years ago

No new machines reported in almost 3 weeks... I can’t take it

#5154 3 years ago

#159 shipping today

#5326 3 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

So a full month from payment to shipping?

Basically a month, I agree that the AUD and EU containers skewed the timelines on mine. Also, I did go through a distributor. I’m sure that added some time as well. ~#151-#160 got a group email for payment which people paid over a week. I think moving forward, 2 weeks from payment if your lucky and a month worst case scenario. “You son of a bitch, I’m in!”

So stoked to be getting it today!!!

#5330 3 years ago
Quoted from zaphX:

I'm excited for you too! This would be me all day.[quoted image]

LOL ...that’s exactly me

#5340 3 years ago

159 arrived safely today. Adjusted the flipper coils, the amp settings, and monitor (brightness/gamma). Now it seems pretty locked in.

The game did lockup during my first Pickle Rick, the audio got choppy and lagged significantly. The mode eventually timed out and returned the ball from the main trough. The game ended and the screen went black. I power cycled. On the 8/21 code.

#5344 3 years ago
Quoted from ripple:

Did it happen around 25-30 minutes of continuous play? For me that's when I have seen the glitch.

Every time it’s during Pickle Rick so far. I’ve played it twice and it’s happened twice. Had to restart both times.

Just some initial observations getting going...

The ball seems to hang up a little at the top of the inner loop for me. I have to check that out.

That garage shot from the upper flipper is hard, it’s flows nicely when I get it, no rattle, just it’s a hard shot, wonder if a small flipper adjustment might help a hint.

I have the pitch at 6.5 and plays well, is that low for the game? I couldn’t find a level anywhere on shooter lane or anywhere else on the game.

Other than that I’m super impressed! The quality feels great, the gameplay is really fun, it’s an awesome game!

The red on one speaker isn’t working. I checked all the connections. Anyone else run into this?

Quoted from PinMonk:

Looks like the red lead for the RGB led strip isn't connected. Red is wrong as is the white one that looks blue on the left because the red mix is missing. Look at the wiring carefully to the left speaker. Try wiggling along the wire up to where it connects to the RGB LED strip in the speaker and see if it comes back intermittently.

Thanks! I traced and jiggled the wire. I can’t even get the red light to intermittently turn on.

#5418 3 years ago
Quoted from northerndude:

Use the key posts in the thread for that inner loop tweak, just pinch the lane guides together a bit.

Thank you, so much better! Everything is dialed in now

I noticed that the light under the crystals wasn’t working, I’m not sure it it ever has. I went into the single light tests and found that Giportalleft1-4 aren’t working. I’m assuming the light under the crystals is one of those. I took off the plastic and checked the connections, they looked good. I then traced the wires all the way into the boards in the back box and at least the crystal light lines appear to be plugged in throughout the circuit. What lights are those 4? Any ideas on how to further troubleshoot?

Quoted from razorsedge:

Plugged on right way around?
Right place?

Thanks! I think so, there are two lights in the circuit that are the same style. One under the crystals by the re entry scoop and the other underneath the right ramp to the right of the house. There’s a pink wire and brown with black striped wire going into two locations on the same board in the back box. The only thing I could try to flip are the red 3 pong connectors circled. The pink wire traces back to the lights that are out for me. The other three prong connection goes to speaker lights, and that stuff appears to be work ongoing properly. I’ve taken out both bulbs that aren’t working and reinstalled, nothing.

Have you tried replacing the flasher?

Thanks. Yeah, I think that’s next, I’m going to try to replace both of them. Seems weird they are both out though. I have to figure out what exact bulb it is. Still trying to figure out what light test they are in the testing menu.

#6038 3 years ago
Quoted from FatPanda:

I have had plenty of IDC connectors where the wire insulation wasnt pierced enough by the connector.
Take a thin screwdriver and really get those wires jammed into the connector. Power off of course. Better yet, replace the connector with a trifurcon style connector.
I wouldnt flip any connections around.

Thank you! That did it! It’s back and flashing again.

Quoted from OnTheSnap:

Rick and Morty 208 has arrived. Couple yanked cables and the BIOS was reset. All fixed and playing like butter.
What’s the consensus on angle? 6.5 the way to go?

I got mine at 6.5 and like it. I upped the coil strength +5 on each flipper and adjusted the angles on them all a hint. I set the coil strength -1 on the ball launch and it’s been beating me up ever since.

#6094 3 years ago

The game locked up during Morty's Choice:Pickle Rick and didn't recover last night. I hit the scoop to initiate the last phase (sewer exit) and it hung. I did have a multiball in the previous phase. I have the logs, not sure they help.

ALSA lib pcm.c:8526:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred

#6098 3 years ago
Quoted from epthegeek:

I've had a few reports of trouble while in pickle rick.
So the order of events in your case was:
1. Started pickle rick
2. Started multiball
3. Lost multiball before ending the rats phase
4. Shot the scoop
Correct?
And you're right - the sound underrun error doesn't help much.

Yup, that’s it thank you. If I can contribute in anyway, let me know. I’ve been playing a ton.

All three decals on #159 impacted by the leg issue. I put on double metal leg protectors and the legs still dig in quite a bit on all four corners. I think there is no saving these bad legs.

#7533 3 years ago
Quoted from Calfdemon:

Doubling up on the metal spacers will not make the legs stop pointing inward, but they will keep them far enough away from the cabinet that they will not touch. Putting the larger plastic spacers on will only cause the plastic to dig into the cabinet instead of the leg. Double up the thinner metal ones or get the thick ones that Mantis makes and you should be good. Personally, if the issue is not resolved by the time mine is ordered, I will be putting the Mantis protector over the stock Spooky one. That will keep the leg away from the cabinet for sure.
https://mantispinball.com/product/misc-leg-protector-hidden/

Spooky sent me an additional set of metal guards and I installed over the existing ones. It didn’t make any difference. The thicker guards you mention from Mantis pinball are only slightly ticker than 2 of the spooky ones stacked. I bought the Mantis and I’m holding off on installing them because you have to drill holes in the cabinet to install them. I feel like why should I have to pay the $40 plus drill holes in a cabinet because I got defective legs?

#7535 3 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Just put thick nylon washers on the leg bolts between the inside of the leg and the metal standoffs. Was plenty to keep the legs off the cab when I had this same issue on Dialed In. It's irritating, but not the end of the world. I survived it on Dialed In, you can too.

I’ll give it a try, thanks. I do wanna get some Tibetan breeze flowing over those coils when available for this one.

#7610 3 years ago

Tonight I was playing and while holding the right flippers, the lower right coil made a really loud humming noise compared to holding the left flipper where the humming sound was much lower. Both flippers are on medium hold strength however +5 in power each from factory settings. Is it normal to hear a noticeable humming while holding a flipper?

#7618 3 years ago
Quoted from TigerLaw:

What happens when you complete the punch card currently?
Today I am uploading the current code and getting the game dialed in some more. Due to the two hurricanes that hit my city and a move I’ve not put nearly enough time on the machine, that changes starting today.

When you complete 9 adventures the 10th will light up and you get to choose and play a "Morty's Choice" adventure. The scoring will be multiplied by however many green stamps (successfully completed adventures) you have on the card. Got there last night and failed miserably

#7709 3 years ago
Quoted from JustEverett:

I did pull the plastics off that side and tried to adjust it a bit to make the curve more smooth. I'd say my efforts have made it maybe 10% better. I think the only other thing I could do to improve mine at this point is to remove the light that is right between the guide and the side rail. I don't really want to do that. But it is definitely a tough shot.

I had an issue with my garage shot (& inner loop) as well. I ended up moving the rail above the upper flipper and the rail leading to the garage using the yelowbird and iepinball modifications as a guide. I drilled a new hole for each rail (first tab hole) and tucked one rail tab under the black wood side rail on both of them. I kept the lightbulb on the garage rail, but it’s right up against it. It shoots very nicely now.

#7717 3 years ago
Quoted from jonesjb:

I don't like the rail exit that close to the flipper. If you have the ball exit above the flipper and don't flip, it will graze the flipper rubber and go to the center drain.

If I don’t flip it, the ball hits the middle of the bottom right flipper and bounces to the left flipper.

Quoted from northerndude:

So, OMG, seriously first game on my new portal!
Had my phone nearby and caught the ending. My best game before ever was 33+ mil. Layed a beating on this fucker. I was in a night vision dimension for like forever at the end, the entire pin pure green for quite a while.

Congrats dude!!! Similar thing happened to me tonight, crazy feeling. I had the night vision dimension too, so cool!

#8319 3 years ago

That score is are possible if you can stay alive collecting adventures and mega seeds. I got 148 million last week and it was basically on 2 balls. I drained the last 3 balls almost immediately (2 extra balls). I got 36 mega seeds and an 80 million bonus on my second ball. Had a 6x morty’s choice. I tried to get multiball (super jackpots are key) for every adventure and was able to complete 3 of 4 adventures on the second ball. Default 4 card stamps and a loose tilt. The big thing was hitting that big mega seed bonus which took me from 60 mill to 140 mil

Quoted from Fytr:

Just played it. NO idea what to do yet but he does say "bitch" a lot!

Oh yeah he does! Awesome mode, have to run make shots and hide and make shots. I got to a gator dimension and aggravating sounds? Dimension with traffic sounds. Rick no. 9 is only on Morty’s choice? If so, gunning for that next.

#8750 3 years ago

Just finished a 6x Rick Potion no. 9 Awesome!!!!!!!!!! However, continuing on playing after that, the last two digits of my score were "76" and I only had 25 mega seeds. It then it froze on me during Total Rick All / MultiBall (2 balls left and 97 million score) and had to reboot.

This update is awesome!!! Thanks for the incredible work!! The end of the card is so cool now and the music during selection!

The scoop was lit to end Rick Potion and I thought I've never wanted to hit that scoop more

#8755 3 years ago
Quoted from epthegeek:

Oh, dip! This 'last two digits got wrong' thing was mentioned in the beta and I completely failed to look into it. It shouldn't affect anything other than displaying wrong, and we'll get it fixed up in the next release, whenever that is.

Thanks Man! It was so exciting to get to and get through Rick Potion!!

#8807 3 years ago

Got to the Rick Potion no. 9 three times in the stream last night and completed scary terry. I was one shot away from completing Rick no. 9 and drained. Had a 144 million game and it froze calculating the bonus on 38 mega seeds with a ball to go unfortunately. The new code is so awesome and fun!

#8833 3 years ago
Quoted from Edenecho:

Is the game too easy, do you have it easy set up or are you just an amazingly skilled player? :O

Loose tilt and flippers increased +5. 6.7 deg. Other than that stock from Spooky. Go watch and you tell me

#8834 3 years ago
Quoted from MikeS:

Inlanes open, rubber removed, and punches set to 0 for me.[quoted image][quoted image]

Jedi level stuff right there. The outlines are so brutal already, no rubber must be scary terry.

#8927 3 years ago

Thanks Spooky for the best customer service by far!!! I’ve had some minor issues with my speaker lights and pinching legs and they have taken care of me very well each time. Quick to respond and they care, I couldn’t ask for more, thank you!

#8957 3 years ago
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

I drilled my playfield and you should too. Bold statement I know.
It has been my experience with the stock game that the garage shot was almost unmakeable and tended to just bounce around in the curve instead of going into the garage unless hit flawlessly. I saw several guides on here on making alterations, and would suggest another slight nuance to the modifications others have suggested.
Like others, I removed the far left screw, loosened the wooden side rail, and tucked the tab underneath. This indeed made the shot easier. In addition to this, I left the center screw in place (some recommend removal) and pulled the right screw back a quarter inch or so, drilled a new hole, and re-attached the screw. With this in place I have found my Garage shot to be much more consistant and to work much better.
This aleteration is invisible from the players position, does not allow the rail to flex and scratch the playfield, and makes the game mroe enjoyable to me. Should I ever decide to sell the game and someone else does not like what I did, all the original screw holes are in place, and the new hole I made is hidden underneath the plastics. You cannot visually tell any change was made except when viewing from the head.
HOWEVER
The negative to this is that many balls that would have simply bounced around in that curve now make it ALMOST to the garage. If a ball maeks it almost to the garage, more often than not it drains down the shot, across the playfield, and into the right outlane. That magna save is critical if you miss the shop because there is no way to save it (without tilting) at my skill level.
Hope these photos help someone else and good luck!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I drilled a new hole for the first tab and kept the second screw out. I played with both setups (screwed down second tab a position similar to yours) and found that leaving the screw out is better for me. I think the flex and more curve there helps. Yes, it creates some scratching without the screw, but I found that was only initially. After playing a couple hundred games and removing the plastic, I didn’t see any noticeable wear.

In your position, I had the same problem with the ball almost getting to the garage, +5 upper flipper coil power might help it.

#8962 3 years ago
Quoted from guitarded:

Since you are already in there, why not add a couple thin poly washers under the screws you leave and eliminate the possibility of scratching?
Wouldn't lift the rail much at all and it would raise the unsecured tab off the PF.

Good one, I’ll check that out next time I’m in there. I’m not sure if I have anything thin enough on hand.

#8989 3 years ago

I hit the scoop to complete Rick Potion #9 and instead of playing the completion scene, it flashed to the replay award screen briefly (screaming sun) and shot the ball back out the scoop almost immediately. It was like I flippered through all the animations, but I didn’t. Im not sure if it was a unique situation, but thought I’d report it cause it killed me to finish and miss the ending scene.
