epthegeek - thanks for this unexpected treat of an update!

One small request maybe for the next update if that ever happens…. at ball launch the adventure card is not lit and it does not light until after the skill shot. Can we have the card lit all the time?

There’s a feature setting for “Skillshot Emphasis via Lighting” - turn that off, then all the normal playfield lights should be on before the plunge.

I bet Pinball Life is suddenly selling a lot of Spooky knocker kits, lol

I’ll have to look after work but the knocker wasn’t on the bse? I’ll buy one if that’s the case

Quoted from TigerLaw:

For those wondering if Stern sized mirror blades will fit in Rick & Morty, the answer is yes they absolutely fit. The screws all line up, everything fits perfectly. Just tested that this weekend, I ended up not actually installing them as I ran out of time. But will post pictures when I do.

Any feedback on how the Stern mirror blades worked out?

#18206 2 years ago
Quoted from jonesjb:

The swamp one has been around for ages. It’s one of my favorite… IMO it works because it’s such a contrast to the pandemonium of the rest of the game. The more diverse and distinct the dimensions can be the better.

Hands down. Love the swamp one. The different sounds and different atmosphere is incredible.

They do fit, though I’ve not yet installed them (been dealing with a newborn this past month). I plan to have a pinball weekend next weekend and will install them and send pics…but they fit, they line up perfectly.

It was an add on.

I imagine stepping up for the multi-player dollar game and picking an adventure. Adventure starts at plunge. Whatever you choose to include (dimension, seeds, mystery, chance to start multiball), everyone has the same opportunity to earn it. Competition mode like. No extra balls, as I think the idea is to play as non lenghty a game as possible. Mode ends, ball drains.

If you include dimensions, garage shot also lit at plunge.

The quicker adventures might even be more fun. Super stress to get shit done.

#18210 2 years ago

epthegeek With all of the excellent dimension adds what about After 5 adventure stamps portal is lit and you start “Dimension Frenzy” or “Dimension Hopping” which is 30 seconds each in 5 random dimensions with unlimited ball save. It could be the mini wizard we’ve all been clamoring for. I know a lot to ask but seems you’ve coded it all

#18211 2 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

I like the new dimension settings. Not a fan of the swamp one - so I set that to only appear later.

The dimension settings are awesome. The swamp dimension and the strobe dimension are ones I am not a fan of...I cant see anything in swamp dimension and the strobe one hurts my eyes. So now I can just turn them off, awesome. Also love being able to have all the dimensions at the start of a game.

This is a great update...the swearing dimension is hilarious. Great job Eric

Agree and would be cool to first pick the adventure and then pick a dimension to layer them

I realize there's been a lot of traffic on the thread lately, but I feel like you missed this: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/aw-jeez-official-rick-and-morty-club/page/364#post-7062259

Nope.

I did see that. I thought you asked what people might be looking for if you did get time to put it in the game. So I was just giving my thoughts on dollar game rules. My bad if you were not, and if my posts were too similar.

Assuming I don't need to Update to the April Caode before this one?

I have to get a buddy to download code for me, so just making sure I can skip straight to the latest Update.

R&M code updates are always the full thing; so skipping any amount is just fine.

It's a matter of personal preference of course, I added the art blades from Wizard Mods yesterday and my RAM looks great! I could see how mirror blades would brighten the overall play and accentuate pf action. The art blades bring in additional season material and color. RAM is my favorite, most frustrating Spooky game that I have to play whenever there's pinball time.

Scott’s music is so awesome, I’m just not a fan of a mode that kills the music. I don’t like the human music beeping one either. Is that still there? I didn’t notice it in the settings.

#18223 2 years ago

As a suggestion for the TNA dimension (it seems like a negative dimension to me since I miss out on ramp points)… can you keep ramps worth worth zero points, but loops and stand ups worth double (or just anything non-ramp).

#18224 2 years ago

Just an FYI, I wiped my high scores with the code update and I believe my settings. Worth saving them before updating.

#18225 2 years ago

I got into that strobe dimension last night in the dark...I almost fell out, jeezz. Probably doesn't help I have Pinstadiums on it too. Way more intense than AFM!

Hey gang ... sorry for the cross-post. But, I just wanted to share Part 1 of the "Making of Rick and Morty Pinball" video (with Scott Danesi and Charlie Emery). It was a lot of fun to create and I'm excited to share it - I started a new topic for it here:

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/the-making-of-rick-and-morty-video-with-scott-danesi-amp-charlie-emer

Thanks everyone!

Man, fairly substantial update, 2.5 years after every copy of the game was sold, when the game is already a highly regarded masterpiece reselling for 150% MSRP... this is awesome. I don't know if it was contracted by Spooky or just a passion project from Eric but regardless, huge thanks for the fine tuning + for adding even more variety to the pin. Hope to see more games with EP involved in the future.

#18229 2 years ago

I hear ya', I just prefer mirror blade to art blades most of the time. The exception is WH2O, I prefer those art blades for some reason.

I'd like to verify whether Sterns will work because I'm going to make a large Tilt Graphics order and I'm trying to decide if I should add them.

I'll take a look at Wizard Mods blades first though.

Great, can't wait to try the update, thanks a lot !!

#18239 2 years ago

With the new code everyone go rate the pin or edit an old review with old code. See if it can get bumped higher.

Can’t wait to try when I get back from vacation.

I think I bricked my game trying to update code. Did the standard usb stick upgrade. When I power cycled (thumb drive removed), I got a message that said update required. So I powered down and inserted game code thumbtack back in to try the update again. That time it just gave me the audits backed up message. Checked the thumb drive. Installation pkg file was no longer there but audit log files were. Reformatted drive, copied pkg back and tried updating but on power up, I still get audits backed up message. If I try powering up with thumb drive out I get black screen with a blinking cursor top left.

Is there an install image I can roll back to? What have others had to do when they've bricked their games?

My bet is try a different USB first. Get it formatted the same as your old one. Then restart.

Anytime you "brick" a game, you just have to try to reinstall the code, whether it's on a new USB drive, or trying a different USB slot, reformatting the drive, etc. The game shouldn't go absolutely dead on you. GL.

Had this happen to me when I tried updating in April. Ended up bricking the computer. I’m going to hold off on the update till we figure out what happened to yours.

#18245 2 years ago

I would like to add and connect from the topper a mini RGB laser projector
the cost is not very expensive and i think it can be great during the game to see it triggered in the whole gameroom

While I share your concern about bricking a game, I've had no problem updating any of my Spooky games (RAM, ACNC or HW). I keep a dedicated 8gig stick for each game on the back glass/head key that's mounted on the coin door. Having 3 updates last week (admittedly for Stern's RUSH besides RAM and HW) had me worried I might mix up data sticks but alas, no screw up this time!

#18247 2 years ago

I labeled my usb "R&M update ONLY" because I know that ones good for that!

Also, I have to say - I’m a little bummed that I added a silly thing in the April update that wasn’t in the release notes and either nobody has ever run into it, or they just haven’t posted about it.
