Can you provide the detailed instructions and file format to obtain a log dump? Does it need to be done right after reboot?

All you have to do is put a blank USB stick into the computer and it'll dump the logs. It's plain text files. Doesn't need to be immediately_ after, but the log does eventually cycle if it gets big enough. On production code that would take quite a while though because it doesn't log much.

#17202 2 years ago

ah yes ; on my blank usb stick there are now 3 files, 2 with the name of : game_user_data_1677112504 & game_user_settings_1677112504
and another big file 29Mo ! named: log_1677112504.txt

After a new update the log file is not on the usb stick

Spooky tech support responded this morning in an email, they told me iam running out of RAM !!! Several features were put into the game that were never tested. WOW!!! OK…..,,,,, So you provided a CPU that is hanging on the edge? Why is this an issue in a $10,000 pinball machine? I can have long multiball play sometimes when iam hot, maybe iam hitting to many switches at the same time? Hell Gorgar in 1979 never lost speech or reset during game play, he never let me down !!!!

Wait, you just got a R&M NIB for only 10K?? Or did you just open it and the machine has been sitting for a while...curious what number it is in terms of build.

#17204 2 years ago

#-390, guy had it in his family room NiB for 13-months, I actually paid $11k. Found out today the right flipper coil fuse was blown. Spooky said I shouldn’t be playing 9-ball games, game was only tested at 3-balls. They want me to install a 5.0 amp fuse. Hopefully that will resolve issue. Hard to believe coils are getting to hot, iam using Pin-Monk fans on all 3-coils.

#17205 2 years ago

Just hit my first 4X super skill shot! Normally by the third one it gets too fast to get it around again, but this time after I hit the third one I then missed the loop but quickly recovered with the right upper flipper, got around again, and finished strong into the garage.

Super satisfying to hit that combination...I love this game!

R&M rubber porn

Quoted from epthegeek:

WAT? This was an issue that earlier games had with playing too many videos. According to all the stats/profiling I've done, this doesn't happen with R&M at all any more; right after launch it still was, but I worked that out. It's always got free memory in current versions since that was fixed. There have been a few instances of bugs that cause an 'infinite loop' in logic that can freeze things, but the ones that have been reported so far have been fixed. A 'reset' during gameplay is a crash, and there would be useful data in the logs as to what went wrong, and I'd absolutely love to fix any of those that turn up; I just need the logs.

***EDIT***
Delete please.

Hello,
Anyone else then us who have a R&M that does a "popping sound" from the speakers when turned off. Like a surge from speakers(air pop).
Only solution for now have been to have it unplugged until being used. But kinda annoying at this point. Having to put cable in everytime we want to play it.

Mine has always done that too. Sounds like a static discharge but I've never figured out why. Spooky tech didn't know either

Yes, here too from the beginning.
Annoying, but who cares at this piece of art.

Strange sidestory, a friend of mine has a R&M too and he reported that he had the same issue but it was gone after he moved the pin in a different room inside his house.

That purple (non-translucent) looks darker than what is pictured on the website and compared to what I've bought from them in the past. Looks much darker (and better!)

Agree that it does look darker. It looks like Pinball Life only offers the translucent purple option for a few ring sizes.
I bought both the translucent and regular and going to play around with which to stick with.

In response to my recent injection of rubber porn into this thread, I’ve received a couple PM inquiries from users asking which rubbers I ordered and which sizes since there is really nothing to reference. (Save the user submission database on Titan’s site)

Sounds like an official User Manual would be an awesome reference (again) in this situation.

#17216 2 years ago

i will made my own flipper coil cooling
it will not be complicated to made because there are many possible options already existing on the market
just a question if it's better to use 6V or 12V where I can connect it to the power supply..

if you also want to change the FAN for a quieter one from the power supply it is about 4 - 5$
the part number is ha60251v4-000u-999 FAN-ML 6025-12 S SUNON , easy to find no?

I don’t know what it is about this game, but WOW !!! Just an incredible pinball machine, especially in multiball, That S turn at the top right corner is SEX.Rip the S turn to the loop then in the garage, back to the S !!! Wicked Combo Action that is sooo satisfying to rip !!! And the lower pop bumper is just Genius!!! Absolutely love when a pinball machine feels like it’s going to EXPLODE!!! The spinner sound is Magical!! This game will never leave my Home!! Build quality has excellent It does have a few code niggles, and weird occurrences, Another thing I noticed is how much feel the game emits into your hands With Pin Monk fans I now absolutely love the flippers, so precise. I couldn’t be happier with this game. I just worry Halloween won’t have the speed/flow/combos? thanks

So has anyone got a legit full green stamp card yet? I got close once but some adventures are so hard to complete.

#17220 2 years ago

Anyone figured out how to fix the insensitive pop issue? I’ve made the switch as close as possible and it’s still not firing on top hits.

Two away for me, but is there any reward for doing it?

Any mode you haven’t finished yet would be 20x on the selector. But, if you’re all green, that would pretty much only be Rick Potion #9

R&M is amazing for sure.

Halloween will be nothing like it. Not saying it wont be great, but with 3 playfields, no way it can flow like R&M.

Any idea on a quieter topper motor?

Not all games are the same. Twilight Zone is a classic no-flow game for example. Different strokes etc etc.

I’d hardly call R&M a flow fest. If you want a flow game, you’d buy a Getaway.

My understanding is that the motor is quieter on routed games where it is on more often, so hopefully it will get quieter with use.

I'm not saying that im a bad way, I have a HWN on order. Just saying it won't flow like R&M, even if that's not the most flowy pin.

Yep - HWN looks like a point and shoot game, which is cool because that’s what I like.

I'm sorta new and only own one other pin, METLE, so I don't really know what I like, but I know I have played HWN maybe 10 times and cannot wait for my 920.

I don't think that's how motors work. They don't just get quieter with age. Or maybe they do? IDK. The idea sounds crazy to me. Lube/grease would make a motor quieter but with greater use and over time they dry out so I would think makes it louder.

There must be a quieter motor, like a servo-motor, or anything we could swap it out with?

#17233 2 years ago

The motor hardly makes any noise. It’s the gearbox.

Pull the motor out and see.

I think the previous poster is correct - the more it is run the more it’ll wear in and it’ll quiet down.

Well - that’s my theory.

You could also grease that sucker up internally with some good grease.

To some extent this is still largely true, thought it depends on the unique particulars and tolerances of a given application. But outside of precision applications - and yes, we should assume a pinball topper gearbox is not a "precision item" lol - it's very common for drivetrains and motors to smooth up and quiet down as burrs, lash, and other mechanical interfaces wear into their natural rhythm. See this in model trains all the time for example. And it's the reason why cars are associated with a "break in period", although that has lessened in recent years as lubricants and tolerances have improved.

Even electric motors can quiet down over time. When new, the brushes may have hard edges that catch on the commutator's splines as it turns. For ease of manufacture, the brushes often have a flat surface - pressed against a round commutator! But they eventually wear down into a perfectly mated shape, and the motor runs more smoothly and quietly once this happens. Further use simply wears into that created mated shape.

Obviously it's possible for mechanisms to wear *out* and get louder over time, but that's another issue entirely.

Good and thorough mechanical explanation. Thanks. Everyone's got their own opinion/perception of course - I don't find the sound from either R&M or HW a problem: So engrossed in each game play, call-outs and brilliant light shows. I guess topper motor noise is a great thing to complain about, then life is pretty good.

I've never noticed it in gameplay, but if left on during attract mode, that's annoying...easy fix for that.
I had to remove my topper due to height restrictions anyway ;(

#17239 2 years ago

I just got my Ultraman and it’s much more of a flow game than R&M - outer loop and two ramps. But right now R&M is more fun.

#17240 2 years ago

I like the topper noise as it draws my attention to the topper when activated. Otherwise, I don’t notice when it’s spinning. That said, it is loud!

Really? I don't think so at all, and I just played HWN and R&M side by side today.

Simple fix, Open the coin door and increase volume until you cant hear the gearbox. Close coin door, lock it and enjoy the game how is was meant to be played. If you getting crazy glass raddle that is the bigger problem. Get the tape...done

Hey guys, instead of browsing and trying to find information can someone point me In the right direction for all the rick and morty pinball tweaks to get it really dialled in nicely. I have changed flipper bushes and installed titan rubbers but still very clunky at times and shots not smooth etc. Any link or advice is great. cheers

The only way to fix the clunk is to move the orbit rails.
