Quoted from Rum-Z:

I took delivery of #504 today. Opened the box for delivery inspection and was greeted by a Cromulon.

40 more till mine!!

What is Spooky cranking out, about 15 a week now? I should be getting mine right around my birthday.

Quoted from mariobeans:

I've been curious how their new chips are performing. Didnt they move away from intel?

With AMD and Apple eating Intel's lunch and Intel having nothing anywhere close to release to compete, it's looking like Intel may be done. Really.

Can we expect one?

Quick question: Does R&M come with stock pricing and instruction cards? Mine didn't have any installed and I don't recall seeing them in the packaging. Maybe they're in a baggie in the cabinet? I'll have to look tomorrow.

I put in my option sheet for #634. I hope the guy keeping track puts it on the website.

Probably not... I heard the guy is a real slacker and he only cares about his #634.

Contact Spooky, there should be instruction cards and info cards. Not sure if they have have custom pricing cards or not. Spooky will help with any questions if you contact them.

I guess he’s on top of it...maybe he’s not so bad after all.

https://sites.google.com/view/whatnumber/home

Wow I can’t believe they’re on course with their original build production estimates... even with Covid and the shut down!

Originally I had a build number in the 650 range and figured to take delivery around March. Well they’re right on track with that if not very close.

Well done Spooky!

Got replacement drop target switch in mail from Spooky support.... After about a dozen games the new switch failed too. Wonder if it's the switches or something else causing it. :/

What were the symptoms of your bad drop target switch?

My Morty drop target is getting wonky - cycles like it’s trying to pop up then gives up.

Yes that's the issue. Does it prevent you from locking a ball?
How about the switch test?

It does prevent me from locking a ball. I’ll have to run the test when I get back to my machine. I’m away for work for a few weeks.

Then you also have a bad drop target switch.
Go to settings and run a switch test. You should have 3 orange dots, you're probably missing the one on the RHS. (2 dots if you don't have a ball in the lower scoop)

Switches rarely fail,usually mechanical,connection,adjustment.

RockRand,
This is what keeps failing. And when it does the dot does not appear on the screen.

We already tested the switch for mech function but it would not provide the electrical signal.

Make sure you don't have the screws too tight on that switch since a over tightened screw will keep the switch from working correctly.

I have a feeling the switches used today are not the quality of the cherry one I am use to.

#11024 2 years ago
#11025 2 years ago

My lock had intermittent issues. After testing everything out it turned out to be the left drop target switch. Switch was removed from the assembly and then tested. It would close when depressed and then open again.

New switch installed and everything 100%.

So whats the consensus on the butter cab option?

Those of you who ordered it, do you feel like its worth it?

Those of you who didn't order it, do you feel like you missed out?

Quoted from CashMoney:

I don't have it, but I don't know that I feel like I missed out..

But I have yet to hear from a single butter cab owner who regretted their decision either.

I would say that if ever there was cabinet artwork that would justify spending extra money on a butter cabinet, R&M is it.

It's amazing...and can only fully be appreciated in person. Photos don't do it justice.

If it's going to be in a tight line-up, it's a waste (obviously). Even so, I think it's a great way to make it a true Collectors Edition. I've had some of the best cabinets in the industry...by HEP, Bryan Kelly, BigTime Cabinets, etc. Butter is better than any of these! My son, 25, who visited recently was stunned (and he isn't as discriminating as I am).

I really hope as Spooky evolves, they stick with offering The Butter. Now that I have one, I will never order a Spooky game without it!

#11032 2 years ago

Do you like shiny more than you like $1000?

I'm sure it looks fantastic, but a normal cab looks really good, too.

In fact, I had originally opted for a butter cab. Squirrel said it was alright to change to a normal cab, when I second-guessed myself. (She is so nice!)

Then when the game came, it looked so good that for a minute I thought they had sent me butter anyway!

#11033 2 years ago

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the non butter. It looks great. I do not regret at all. That's money that can go towards other things/pins. If your goal is to maximize your lineup and they are all close, it makes almost no sense to splurge on butter. If it's going to be out where it's on display, then it might make sense to get butter.

Gorgeous. Like a piece of furniture.

It does look fantastic. If it were a $500 option, I'd have done it in a heartbeat. $1000 is a bit too much for me. If you've ever seen radcals, butter cabinets look almost the same (slight edge to butter though ).

There has to be a way to make blank radcals with a "safe" adhesive that wouldn't damage the underlying artwork ... anyone that could pull that off would make a small fortune . I think if those existed and were put on a Rick and Morty, many people would mistake it for a butter cab at first .

Adjusted the rail to my upper right flipper today because I noticed there was a lot of space between the path of the ball and the flipper... also the rail was overlapping the line in the artwork (not aligned straight with it).
BC8342A1-ECC7-499D-BCB2-F82506F12BCC (resized).jpeg

Now the gap is better (smaller) and the rail lines up nice and straight with the artwork and flipper.

I noticed a significant improvement in the upper loop and the garage shot immediately.

I made the same adjustment to my game, so
The ball transfers smoothly from the rail feed to the upper flipper. It made a huge difference in the smoothness of the game play. Before I was getting tons of ball hops off the rail/flipper that just led to the side to side chaos R&M can create.

For me, I was just not getting consistent shots off that flipper. I know the shots are difficult but it was way to inconsistent. I’m not a professional pinball player by any means but I know I at least have some consistency in making shots. There were times I could make the upper loop multiple times (2/3 or up to even 5 times) and then there were times I couldn’t make the same shot even once in a game.

I did this late last night so I didn’t play that much or long after I made the adjustment but I did play a handful of games and noticed a huge improvement right away. I was making the loop and garage much more and I also noticed they were nice smooth clean shots. I’m glad I decided to make this adjustment and I hope I’m right about the improvement. Super excited to put a lot of games on it now and can’t wait to see how my scores improve!

I hope...

Did you notice any improvements in scores after you adjusted your rail???

Looks good. As has been noted you can loose the post ring behind that rail that basically does nothing for further adjustment.

Now that you mention it, I do remember seeing/reading that post.

I’m going to put a good amount of games on it today, hopefully. Then go from there.

Thanks Dave!

Good to see production has ramped up significantly. I'm #749, so I have some wait left still.

For whatever reason, I just haven't been feeling pinball lately. I'm hoping getting this game reinvigorates me.

You'd think working from home for the last year would mean me playing my games more, but it hasn't. Unfortunately, we're about to move, so I have to put all my games in storage except one for 6 months.

For the folks just freshly unboxing their games...Are the leg issues addressed now? Or are you still having to compensate w/ a extra protectors, etc.?

All 4 legs that I received were perfect.

Spooky is also including Pads in the box as well. But, there were no issues with impingement on any of the legs I received.

Yeah, I haven't touched any of my other machines since R&M made it in. I know it's new and all, but I haven't done that for any other machine. It is truly a unique pin the way the adventures are coded.
