Quoted from arzoo:

So you're saying the metal is even with the inner sloped edge of the playfield, no lip at all? If the pf edge is not taking a hit then I'll give this a try. Thanks.

Before/After. As you can see, the "after" front scoop is still slightly over the lowest point of the wood bezel. The wood is still fully protected. If the scoop is lowered too much, the wood might be in danger of getting nicked. Like any pinball tweak, takes a little finesse, but I'm convinced this is the right solution.

When the scoop is protruding out (like in the before photo), it's like narrowing the hole considerably. The bezel helps make the shot more forgiving.

How thick/many washers did you add?

#8403 3 years ago
Quoted from snaroff:

So when I'm in "switch test mode", and extend the lower flippers, EOS fires (as you would expect). When I extend the upper flipper, no EOS fires. Normal?

There is no EOS on the upper flipper.

#8404 3 years ago
Quoted from harryhoudini:

Thanks for the response. There is an EOS switch on my upper flipper mech, but it's not wired up.

#8405 3 years ago
Quoted from Coyohtay:

I added a fairly thick plastic washer I got at ACE hardware (they have a ton of washers). Metal washers are too thin and doubling them up would be too thick.

I don’t believe there is an EOS switch on the upper flipper.

Well, that's weird. Sounds like someone might have grabbed the wrong flipper assembly.

Who knows...photo that shows the unwired EOS.

Anyone have the voiceover/narration cut out? In the middle of the game just stopped any sort of voices. The sound effects, music and voice effects (grunts, etc) were all there but no Rick or Morty talking to me. Going in to the game menu didn't give any voice feedback (like it normally would). Rebooting the game and everything is fine again. Strange.

I hadn't seen this until a local friend and his family came to check the game out this past sunday and I've been playing it a lot. Last game they played this happened on. Figured it was just a one game bug but when I went to play a game later there were 0 callouts/voices still. Also tried going into the menu and nothing. Ended up rebooting. I thought this was probably related to something I recently did to my machine but maybe not if other people are seeing this.

#8411 3 years ago

Edit was gunna ask for pic of scoop but just saw it thanks

Yeah mine has done it a few times as well, only fix for me was a reset of the game.

#8413 3 years ago

Just additional data for troubleshooting: we've had a couple crashes, but never had issues with lamps stuck on, portal effects stuck, speech cutting out or similar. We also never restart games. If you're getting the above issues, stop restarting and see if that helps.

I have rarely restarted a R&M game, mostly because the game makes fun of me, but I do recall restarting a game last night. I can't say if it was the same time/game or before/after but for the rare times I have done it on a R&M that might be the coincidence.

They all come in with switches on. We remove them. Someone just forgot no big deal. Wont hurt anything.

Yes, a couple of times.

Yup, exactly what i've found, will only cut out after restarts

Yeah after seeing your pic, I might tweak mine too, as it looks something like your first photo despite having washers from the factory. There's definitely enough ball rejects to warrant doing something on mine I reckon.

Quoted from cooked71:

Yes, a couple of times.

Yeah I had it do something like that the other day too. I played through it as I was in the middle of a good game. Seemed to clear itself though, so I didn't end up restarting.

When callouts stopped working on my game it didn't happen on a restart.. happened at the end of ball 3 on player 3 (3 player game). I may have done restarts before they played but I've taken to 'restarting' via going into the service menu and back out because it's faster.

#338 didn't quite make it unscathed through the Fed EX dimension.

Oh no! Was it damaged?

#8424 3 years ago
Quoted from Jherre6:

Oh no! Was it damaged?

Yep. I didn't sign for it, so it will all get squared away.

I'll just have to wait a while longer. No worries.

#8425 3 years ago

Seems like alot more shipping damage with R&M then ACNC. Are all games going through FedEx now or does it depend on location?

#8426 3 years ago

Looks about what mine looked like from FedEx. I accepted it, however, because... impatient. Just the rear of the backbox was screwed up. Seems like FedEx has problems not damaging stuff.

#8427 3 years ago

Hey bros. Just got my Rick and Morty all set up. Almost had a heart attach when I kept getting a hardware connection when I first booted up. Turned out the power cord wasn’t plugged into the board on the back box.

Now, it’s looking for balls. Not sure I put the balls in the right spot. It says install one ball in 2nd trough on the left. And install 4 balls on right. Instructions were limited. Any ideas ?

#8428 3 years ago

Install one here. And just let the other four roll down the playfield into the main trough.

Hmm. Only came with 4 balls though. Put 1 in that hole. 3 down the middle. Looking for balls. There appears to be a fifth ball trapped down by the lower right bottom of the house. Do I have to pop that out and send it down the middle?

Nah, thats the flooble crank captive ball. That always stays there
Should have 5 loose balls. 4 in main trough, one in the staged ball trough

You need 5 balls. 4 in the bottom. 1 in the portal.

Should it have come with 5 balls? Mine only came with 4 loose balls. Then the flubble crank ball... put 1 in the REENTRY HOLE, and 3 down the middle. Says looking for balls.

I chose to personally escort my game through the r04d-+r1p dimension JUST to make sure those Jerrys in f3D-eX didn't poke their nasty little forks in it.

Hope they get it sorted for you quickly!

Haha, definitely a lot of Jerrys that don't seem to care about the cargo.

It's about a 9 hour drive for me, but I did think about it.

"only" 7 from here, but looks like it was worth it. Yours wasn't the only game zapped in f3D-eX

Now I've got balls if Jerry takes any from my game.

After everything we’ve been through GAC, are you the least bit surprised? One more fuck you before I can get my dirty hands on this bad boy to game it up.

You have no idea what was going through my head when the first thing I saw was HARDWARE FAILURE. Then I just felt like a total Jerry not being able to figure the ball situation out. Must have lifted the play field 30 times looking for any solution that didn’t involve me making a post looking like a stooge on Pinside.

Chisox any places to score pinballs in the Frankfort/Orland area? I’ve already ordered a bunch online but no dice until Saturday...

Unfortunately no. I can meet you somewhere after work tomorrow (I work downtown so about 4:00ish) and give you a couple. Best I can do. Or I can leave a couple in my mailbox if you want them sooner.

I feel your pain.

First machine I ever got was an Earthshaker off ebay in like 1998 or so. Picked it up from the forward air terminal, got it home and setup.. no balls included. Seller assumed we had some, this was when games still mostly changed hands between ops. Can't exactly buy 'em at walmart, but we finally managed to score a set of used balls from a local coin-op dude.

Fuck yeah dude. I work on the south side (right off of I57+Halsted) until around the same time but I could meet you wherever in Frankfort or whatever is easiest for you. What’s a decent bottle of bourbon I could swap for a few balls lol?

Same thing happened to me Fed Ex is terrible for freight. I have purchased many pins over the years and never had a problem. First time getting delivery from FedEx and mine was beyond destroyed glass everywhere. On top of that I notice they are the same way in delivering packages boxes all look like they were crushed under a pile of other boxes. Lucky if you get a fed ex delivery these days undamaged. Never seem to be like that until recently.

*not a jerk, but PM guys

Got the stuck colors on game restart as well now. Definitely some buggos with restarting games.

#8448 3 years ago

You guys got seeds inserted by Fed Ex, mine was inserted by UPS. Only if they were gentle would it of made the entire transaction.....an enjoyable experience.

Good thing Spooky has better customer than those that deliver the expensive toys.

#8449 3 years ago
Quoted from Pinstym:

That's some great fart acting. I think I could do that, but then I wonder, could I fart under pressure? I'd definitely need a good spit guard.
Maybe some day when things settle down code wise, we can have our own farts inserted into the game. I'd pay $100 bucks easy to have my very own fart in there. I can see and hear it now... first fart of the dimension... hey guys, that's me.
To dream.

There are hundreds of fart effects already available in pro sound FX libraries. Once you work with the FX libraries, you start to recognize specific FX the sound mixers for movies and TV shows are too lazy to pitch or change so they're not stock. Here's some from Hollywood Edge (I added to an internet gif for demonstration purposes)...

It's surprising how little Science knows about farts:
