Early reports from testers say the slowdown issue is improved, so ...

New public build available, you can grab it here at the Spooky page https://www.spookypinball.com/game-support

Build 2020.08 26:
- Added: Independent volume control setting for attract mode cable clips.
- Fixed: Adventure Selector didn't pause ball search, could eject the ball if you didn't hit the flippers at all while the timer counted down.
- Fixed: Corrected Morty position on initials of less width than the score string on the new 'champ' pages.
- Changed: New Logic to allow repeat inner loop shots to charge the spinner more than the base of 3x regular shot.
- Changed: Tweak made to the attract mode video handling based on reports of slowdown issues with the display.

Full Changelog can be found at https://soldmy.org/rm_changelog.txt

What did the Kruzman option cost, if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m #386 - have a little time on my hands.

It’s probably not my place to comment, I recommend reaching out to Kruzman directly.

Quick test with a comment

1. When starting a game during an attract mode cable clip, the game starts but the clip audio still plays in the background.

Keep on keepin on. Appreciate the work as always.

Derp. That will be fixed in the next build - not something important enough to do in a hurry (like the slowdown issue) - but thanks!

Another audio issue.

1. The portal noise when counting mega seeds sometimes carries over if it’s the last ball when Rick is using the screwdriver and counting.

Just reporting. Take your time!

WAT

Quoted from gliebig:

I just got my machine in today and was going to install the green Britebuttons I got to have them pulsing, but ended up playing it too much! Looks great! Scott had emailed back from PBlife and you have to get the additional power board to do it, but was worth it cause I plan to install some other lights.

Has anyone added a playfield spotlight and if so where? It seems a little dark in the middle and just wondering what has worked for others, not pinstadium just one or maybe two spots. Thanks!

I don’t sell stuff, I just bought two green LED flipper button sets from pinball life, disassembled them, respliced/soldered/shrink tubed it all back together. Pretty basic stuff

The red on one speaker isn’t working. I checked all the connections. Anyone else run into this?

Looks like the red lead for the RGB led strip isn't connected. Red is wrong as is the white one that looks blue on the left because the red mix is missing. Look at the wiring carefully to the left speaker. Try wiggling along the wire up to where it connects to the RGB LED strip in the speaker and see if it comes back intermittently.

I like that they pulse and such, but wouldnt an orbit of lights be ideal? I think Zitt made them for ST right? Maybe we can get him to make a couple 100 sets...lol

And you get that inspirational music every time you look at the flipper button nice!

#5369 3 years ago

Curious for those who just got theirs. Pinball life has a disc replacement for the right flipper button as is in the photo below. My game has a long thin piece of plastic that flexes to contact the switch. Are newer games coming with the disc instead? I can just see that being another piece that cracks when it flexes.

Thanks! I traced and jiggled the wire. I can’t even get the red light to intermittently turn on.

I added 2 spot lights to light up the center of the playfield. One over the right sling and one by the family standup targets, by the blue crystal. I also added an LED strip in the back by the right ramp.

Can you post a couple of pictures? How well did it work?

Yeah, I can get some when I get home. It works quite nicely and doesn't take away from the RGBs because it's not so blindingly bright but adds enough to keep the playfield and ball visible.

Does anyone have a good pic of the spooky inside art. I just got my order form for #243 and I don't know if I want the inside art extra.
Thanks

I'm sure there are others, that's the first one I saw.

Yes, it's the one with the planets and space background. The other two are photo-shopped ideas.

I have to say, the Spooky inside artblades are disappointing, mostly empty black and not nearly enough going on to justify the expense. I won't be purchasing them and will source something else 3rd party.

#164 - butter cab shipped today!

Do you have a multimeter to see if the led strip is getting power where the wires connect to it on the red wire? If it is getting power (check it against the G and B wires to make sure the measurement method is good) then likely bad LED strip. If it's NOT getting power, then the problem is somewhere earlier in the power path to that board.

I really like the art blades. Too much of Crazy Colours and busy side art I would see as distracting visual clutter, and take something away from the playfield and cab art. It gives a good minimalist contrast to the detail in other areas.

Only way it would have been better imho is if the graphics were printed on mirror blades, maybe black mirror.

I assume the art blades were basically the work of the Adult Swim artist as well anyway? ... perhaps not the final choice going to Spooky?

I will probably install mirror blades over the inside art, anyway, I suppose that would preserve the original art decals too.

I certainly would not have been down for either of the "photoshop" art blade jobs at all, overdone and cluttering the art. Yuk!. Personal preference of course but to me that would just look grosse. The eye needs somewhere to rest! lol. Thank You for Not doing that AS!!

RaM art blades, perfect fit I think... great work Spooky and Adult Swim!

Spotlight pics and a short video. On the left side, I used existing hardware. On the right side, I had an extra 1/2" spacer and mounted it to the middle screw on the slingshot. The pic of the game lit up was during boot. I tried to play the second ball one handed in the vid at the end lol.

I would use the little LED spotlights Stern has been using lately. Almost no bulk and very bright. You could easily hide them in some 3D printed crap to keep the visual continuity.

What are these lil Leds you speak of, haven’t seen them in any ‘19 games? And I can’t wait to goto the 3D crap shop!

#5396 3 years ago

Is there a wiring chart online? Trying to figure where these 3 connectors go. Two are routed in one bundle and one is separate.

The little spotlights that you can barely see on games like Deadpool Prem/LE that highlight the figurines. Stern manuals probably have the part numbers...

Here's one from the right side of deadpool.
