Thanks, any pics? Got my pro last night and it's doing the same thing.

Quoted from DCfoodfreak:

Lift the play field and look back inside at where the shooter rod is mounted. There is a steel plate with 5 screws. 3 are steel screws and 2 at the bottom are copper colored. Leave the steel alone. Take out the copper ones, lift the rod vertically a bit. It will shift up. Drop table and make sure its still centered by shooting a ball. (by the way take the balls out first by pushing up on the coil).
If still centered take a drill and pilot drill new screw holes. If not adjust and then do that.
Cheers
Dave
Hopefully starting to pay back some LTG Karma ; )

Not sure I'm following this. If I loosen or remove the two copper screws, the other three steel screws are still holding the plate and you can't make any adjustment. Wasn't until I loosened all 5 screws that the rod would move some. Still haven't gotten the rod set well enough to launch it t To the top every time. Hard to believe stern can't get this right.

I think I've found the fix for this, at least this is what worked for me. It now shoots straight and all the way up the ramp every time with a decent amount of force. Prior to making the adjustment, the rod was striking the ball to high and too far to the left. So the adjustment I did is as follows and can be seen in the pic.

1. Remove copper screws (B)
2. Loosen steel screwes (A) until the shooter rod housing is loose enough to move around
3. Push shooter rod housing down as far as it will go (1)
4. Push the housing to the left (2) until it is about 1mm off the cabinet.
5. Tighten steel screws (A)
5. Drill new pilot holes for the copper screws and put them back in, being careful not to drill through the cabinet.

That's it, very simple. Took me about 6 times of trial error before I finally got it.

The two screws are what hold the housing to the cabinet. The three steel screws only hold the outside and inside of the housing together. I agree they may not be needed, but without them, the housing could potentially move.
