I paid for mine in Bitcoin.

#153 5 years ago

I had an issue where I bought an expensive item on a debit card and I was also under the impression that I couldn't dispute a purchase made on a debit card, but I did and won and got my money back......

#154 5 years ago

It's probably drop shipped right from stern. Guys Ccount gets billed by stern. He ships direct and never sees the product. Bet u guys get ur games. He's going to break even or take some loss for his mistake.

#155 5 years ago

Man I can't wait to see what happens here......never would have pulled the trigger on this.

When have you ever even seen a quilt shop? China or the Philippines?

Okay...seriously...you were making decent points up until this point, but man, this statement is just ig-nuhr-ant.

Jesus, have you EVER been ANYWHERE in the south?

Quoted from Khabbi:

I can't believe I've been buying quilts from them for years and had no idea they sold pinball machines. Crazy!

That was quite funny!

I saw this when there were still 10 left. Couldn't convince myself Avengers was worth 3 grand.

#159 5 years ago

I almost pulled the trigger then I did the math. What's a HUO Avengers pro worth? $3,800? Once I open the box and get board of it, I might have a few hundred extra bucks in my pocket, but not worth the hassle at all. I believe Amazons customer protection is limited, but the credit card company would probably step in to help.

I dunno, I think it's a good deal IF Avengers pro is a keeper for you, which can't be that many people as it was a particularly bad pro. If you want it to play a while then dump for profit, not worth your time I don't think. If you just want to profit, again, I don't think anyone is paying much over $4K and with all the money being the shipping charge, that's the red flag.

#160 5 years ago

Very interesting thread... Price glitch, too good to be true bargains happen pretty frequently on Amazon with woodworking equipment. If they catch the problem quickly they tend to take a hard line and just cancel orders with an apology (no compensation). Since this is third party, it could be a different deal... Good luck to buyers!

#161 5 years ago

I don't get it. $3000 for this game is not a smoking deal. Its blowing out dead inventory.

#162 5 years ago

Why the shipping so high? Misprint or keyboarding error? Or a sales tax thing?

Tasteless Choice… my absolute favorite!

Unless you prefer Folgers Crystals (def think you're on the crystal sometimes...)? I once substituted it for the normal coffee in a fine, upscale restaurant and no one knew the difference...

Just curious, but you've played TAV pro how many times? I've never played one. I've seen one at PAPA but it was during Pinburgh and I never got to it. Are you judging this game on your own experience?

Quoted from btw75:

You'd be silly not to. CC provide needed protection for a risk like this, called a "charge back".

Some banks may also sue the account holder, issue penalty fees or press criminal charges when "charge backs" are required due to fraudulent activity, such as a scam transaction.

The bank will pay, but will also make you pay for not being smarter.

Might be they are avoiding fees from Amazon. People used to do this on ebay all the time. have an item for .01. and have shipping be $70, just so they wouldn't get hit with %'s for the listing. Then ebay changed the policy so they hit you with %'s on shipping as well, so they get you either way now. Amazon's setup might be like the old ebay.

#168 5 years ago

I hope this works out. If it doesn't, I'm sure you'll have no problem getting at least $11.00 back.

#169 5 years ago

I've played this game twice, for about 45 minutes each time single player. It was a low play game that was leveled correctly and fully working.

90 minutes with a pin is enough for me to know if I like it or not.

Or maybe it's a scam. Maybe when you get something that is damaged or something you didn't order, they gladly accept returns for refunds, but not shipping charges.

Must be nice to have such great instincts! I had my Avengers in my house for a week wondering if I'd made a mistake. And then another learning its charms. Then I started to enjoy it, and after a couple of months it became one of my favorite games ever.

Life must be easier for you.

#171 5 years ago

I saw some pinsider post: " I really wish they receive the pin instead of the pro " why would you wish that to a pinsider? I really wish all those buyer the best of luck and really hope they will recive a pro ....they got a smoking deal
I think avengers is a very good pinball , you need to have one to understand it ,it's such a great game . Now that we will see more in the market I think it will become more popular ....well every day this pinball has more followers ,owners , posts , good comments and all .

I got a call from this number. The guy said he worked for amazon and wanted to confirm my purchase. Asked if I knew the price and was aware of the unusually high shipping charge. I said 'yes'. He said 'ok, then I'll go ahead and process your order'.

Here are a bunch of comments from people who were contacted by this same phone number:

Some people handle being jealous by wishing ill will upon the person they're envious of. I hope it works out great and turns into a positive story to recount later.

Hah, wow I hope this works out for the peeps that ordered! I've never bought a pin for $11.

You want to tell me about any other aspects of my life I enjoy that I didn't know about? I'm glad you like it, but I think it sucks. I'm sorry it takes you months to start liking certain games.

Without reading thru this whole thread, has anyone called "Quilt In A Day" to see if this was a valid deal?

Or emailed them directly?

Maybe they are closed all weekend?

Why would we do that? That would take all the excitement and nail biting out of the adventure!
Actually, I did try to send them an email, but it was pretty late and a holiday weekend. I figured all the Avengers would be gone by the time I got a response so I said "What the F**k!" and ordered one. Still haven't got a response from the seller, but again it's still the weekend. I figure one of three things will happen:
1. The order will ultimately be cancelled and my card will be credited.
2. It's a scam and I'll have to file a claim/dispute and make a couple calls and ultimately my card will be credited.
3. A NIB Avengers Pro is delivered to my door in about a week and I'm a hero (in my mind anyway)

And your track record is what, 100%? Because I'll bet you don't second guess yourself.

#181 5 years ago

This is the last post I'll make on it because its off-topic, but it's laughable that you think you know what's best for me; A stranger, who I've never met, who doesn't know me, thinks I should play games longer and that I am too quick to judge

Worry about yourself buddy, enjoy your crappy Avengers Pro

I sure hope it's Number 3!
I saw the deal and had time to probably pull the trigger but I've played the pin and just didn't do it for me personally.
So I didn't pounce on it.
And of course, it just seemed like a website error.
Time will tell!
Good Luck!

I saw it with 10 left and passed...seemed too good to be true. Plus, I already have one. This will be very interesting.

But what if the translite was signed by all the actors from the Avengers movie (sans Harrison Ford)?

Or #4. You get "The Pin" and get an $11.00 credit on your card.

I think its laughable that you make decisions on new pins in 90 minutes, during 2 sessions of play. You're confident you even know the rules at that point? The objectives?

I'm sure that people that know you well also question your judgement.

Whatever.

"the pin" is not what I purchased. Shipping is also refundable if the wrong item is shipped or under fraud (which is what it would be). Thanks for the support.

C'mon mang...no use trying to convince people to like games they don't like. First impressions matter, and Avengers blew it for most people.

We know it's a fun game...but whatcha gonna do.

it's okay, he has a difference in opinion... it happens, let it go man....

To be fair though, if I am not having any fun on a pin after 90 minutes, I will most likely never purchase that pin. 90 minutes should be plenty of time to at least figure out the basics of a game. If don't enjoy even the basics, why would I put even more time on it to learn the nuances?
