That Hulk looks bad ass with green DMD !!!!!!!!!!!

#142 11 years ago
Quoted from Frax:

That's one hell of a wierd playfield layout.

Indeed, makes me want to play it!

#221 11 years ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Nobody has mentioned that the crossover ramp on the LE is an arrow .... as used by Hawkeye.

Good eye.

Quoted from Benepinballs:

Its a tough one, Any more 7-8geezles for a DMD pin, it better walk on water.

After seeing WOZs LCD screen, I'm not entirely convinced that I need LCD to enjoy a pinball machine.

There are some new games with the LCD in the playfield that look revolutionary, but so far the backbox LCD is not that exciting.

Quoted from jsalce:

Kinda bummed about the custom speech/voice actors.

No, this is cool.

Remember STTNG?

Quoted from Rarehero:

This won't be the real actors from the movie.

You have 100% confirmation on this, yes?

#312 11 years ago
Quoted from TomGWI:

Are you kidding me? You think Stern is going to get those guys to do custom call outs?
Vid, I thought you were smarter than that.

OK, so no confirmation....

#315 11 years ago

Many actors enjoy doing pinball voiceover work, just because it's pinball.

You read back in the Williams days about actors even giving suggestions and lines not on their scripts because they enjoyed the idea.

#322 11 years ago
Quoted from TomGWI:

With 99.9% certainty, I can say that Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hackeye, Capt Am will not have the real actors doing custom speech.

Still no confirmation though.

When you make a factual statement, you have to know 100%, not 99%.

You can hurt reputations and lose Stern business when you make a possibly false statement.

#325 11 years ago
Quoted from flashburn:

They also enjoy it because it's the easiest paycheck they could ever ask for.

Sure. Stephanie Rogers got $50 for her voice in BOP.

#327 11 years ago

Who? lol

Stephanie Rogers - singer, actress, MILF

Quoted from Pimp77:

Ummm, no...not for me at least.

Take a chance, you might like women after all.

J/K

I bet she was something back in the 80s during the BOP days.

Honestly the game is going to get beat to hell with the ball crossing the drop target path. The ball is going to stick there as well as chew that area up badly.

Those drops have extended heads on them that make the bridge across the gap.

Think of the drop that blocks the multiball ramp in Space Shuttle. The balls don't get stuck in this very heavily traveled area because the drop is made for that kind of purpose.

#343 11 years ago
Quoted from flashburn:

Bashing Hulk makes some sense, gotta make him angry!

He's always angry.

#357 11 years ago
Quoted from Don1:

I've always been told it was Rhys and the kid that played Frodo who did the actual voice over for the LOTR, can't see how 'a pinsider told me' would change that to false.

That's because whatever the Pinsider said was an outright lie.

Chris Granner said:

"Elijah Wood and John Rhys-Davies did our custom speech. Elijah was super fantastic; he go it right away, and delivered his lines with great enthusiasm and verve. John was a pinball sound veteran from Indiana Jones, and we had a blast with him as well."

#359 11 years ago
Quoted from flashburn:

Well, depending on the comic/movie/cartoon, the angrier he gets, the bigger he gets.

I know. "I'm always angry" is a quote from the movie.

#362 11 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

.but this guy just told me a story about how this girl he met said her husband did the Rhys-Davies voices for the pins!

Broads will say anything to get you in the sack so you can get them pregnant.

#367 11 years ago
Quoted from sterlingpinball:

Some nice items on Avengers, don't think it caters to the comic book fan. There were around 100 Avengers over the years. Where's Vision?

This is really a movie pin rather than a Comic pin.

Most people are only going to recognize the characters from the movie.

Hawkeye got slipped in nicely from the Thor movie.

#427 11 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

- Hulk cabinet looks cool. However, last I checked, the game is called "Avengers".

There is already a HULK pinball machine (as you probably know). hulk.jpghulk.jpg

#433 11 years ago
Quoted from John_I:

Funny, I watched Gary at SPF and I don't remember him saying anything remotely like that even once let alone repeating it!

He said it. There is a video on Youtube.

#442 11 years ago
Quoted from badbilly27:

My comment was intended to convey "Avengers" is about well, all the Avengers not just Hulk. While visually cool, I don't like the signaling out of one character with cabinet art and colors. Otherwise, just make a Hulk pinball machine (number 2) and put Avengers on the shelf. Comic purist.

It is probably something along the lines of :

a. having some legal entanglement with the old game name (if you can't make money, sue somebody).
b. the licensee would have charged for a full extra license to just do HULK.
c. the design team just loves the HULK more than any other character.
d. while there are more Avenger movies on the horizon, there are no further HULK movies announced.
e. .......

Quoted from DCFAN:

Nah, Captain America has been a fringe superhero for the last 40 years. No movies, TV shows or Saturday network TV cartoons that I know about.

Except the TV show and the cartoon:

I seem to remember a Captain America II tv show too, but I can't find it .

#475 11 years ago
Quoted from DCFAN:

LOL, that was a failed TV movie pilot. I honestly enjoyed the recent Captain America movie as well as the Thor movie, but the IM movies just seem to fit this day and age the best while Hulk is the one that each decade of kids gets exposed to at some point.

I liked Captain America movie a lot, but Thor was much better (maybe just not as predictable) . I'd rate Thor just above the Iron Man movie.

Here is Captain America II:

#482 11 years ago
Quoted from DCFAN:

I was a kid that followed cartoons between 1972 and 1980 and don't remember anything substantial with Capt. America.

It was the same, very unanimated cartoon style with the same sing along intro as Hulk, Iron Man or any other of those same cartoons that were on every afternoon.

Thor:

Quoted from PeteM:

I'm sad you had to explain that.

That line was pure action movie porn.
