My initial impressions from just looking at the game and playing a game or two were not good. But after 10 plays, I was ready to buy one! If I would have rated it after just 2 plays I would have definitely rated it lower (for the record I haven't rated it yet as I feel I need to play a game substantially to give it a fair rating).
While I think that the really low ratings are unfair, I also think the NIB guys that open the game and within the first week rate it a 9-10 skew the rankings also (that's why the game is rated above MM, TZ, etc.). It will eventually level out over time.
And Bemmett will remember that I absolutely hated AC/DC at first, and I rated it as such.. but over time, with code changes and playing the game a fair amount, I changed my opinion. To be fair, I also rated XM high at first, and after owning and playing for a while, changed it to a lower setting. I'd rather just wait a few months and give it a fair rating instead of an early "seat of the pants" rating.
And for the record, I am ordering an Avengers Pro.. only because I liked the game enough and felt that the code was complete enough to buy.
