Quoted from Pimp77:It has been a slow long road for stern...people are down on stern because of quality issues, stripped games, incomplete code, and raising prices to name a few. It's not like its just one thing and all of a sudden. JJP has offered hope in this hobby that seemed to be going down just two years ago.
Nothing against Gomez and his talent, but Transformers soured a lot of people too.
This is basically what I feel, and I am sure I am not alone.
Has Stern given us some great games over the years, even this year with ACDC? Hell yeah!
Does that excuse games that ship with their own real fireworks show via Aux. board friage, continously untested games sent straight to buyer's homes, having to wait months, possibly years (possibly forever?) for a game to be completed?
Is George Gomez the pinball devil? No. He's just a very busy guy doing his best. But he's also the guy who boasts how "The Pin's" best feature is it is always set to freeplay. His job is to try to build great games, and whether he misses the mark or not it is his job to pump and sell as many as he can.
He has the unenviable position of sitting as an artist creating something he hopes most people love, and being the used car salesmen who really just wants to sell as many as possible (for the best return proftit wise).
Just because I cam empathize with his situation does not mean I am gonna sit back with a smile and swallow/believe everything someone says. Otherwise TFLE owners would be busy jacking down their home's AC voltage as it is obviously too high according to Stern...
