Quoted from turbo20lbs:Unless Ben Heck is lying, I would assume it is.
Yeah, he mentioned it on Twitter - https://twitter.com/benheck
Quoted from musketd:Come on guys lets beat stern to the punch on video
that shouldn't be hard to do.
Bump. In anther post, I offered $10 to the first person to post a 5 min video of the game in action. Offer still stands. Someone go with a buddy and inconspicuously have your iphone handy during a game.
It would make a lot of people here happy!

There seems to be a million pinsiders in the area.
Even if they make you stop after a while you could get SOME video.
On another thread someone else has been there and played it.
So please post some video and tell us about dots, music, call outs, how some of the shots felt, and where the hell does the ball go from the shooter lane.......

This must be what Stern wants, crappy iPhone video of Avengers out before they release their own.
Amazing.

Yeah, I just don't get it. I'll take whatever video I can get at this point. So strange that the public should have to do Stern's job. Sh*t, its out on location and Stern can't put a simple gameplay video up? And don't tell me "it takes time to edit the raw footage". That's bs. That could be done easily in a day.
It is a concern when you think about it, hope they are not delaying because they think it is a shit game..... And trying to sell as many as possible while they can.
The game is out on location for testing.
That means the game is not finalized yet.
Relax, when the game is done, there will be official video.
Quoted from swinks:It is a concern when you think about it, hope they are not delaying because they think it is a shit game..... And trying to sell as many as possible while they can.
There sure have not been as many people looking forward to it the way they were to xmen and woz. I think their pricing has everyone in sticker shock right now. It sure hit me in the nads. Add that to everyone being kinda hyped out right now on new games, and hobbit coming out too with their sticker shock. Certainly they want to get as many of them as possible out there immediately, but maybe their marketing gurus messed up this intro a bit. Its not right that they want everyone to committ to their distributor instantly when nobody knows anything about the actual gameplay yet other than that it has a 6 ball multiball and hulk picks up the bridge.
I had a deposit on it and dropped it when they shortened the time to commit at pre intro pricing with the minimal info that is out on it. It just gave me that uncomfortable feeling of a car salesman hustling me to dig into my wallet to buy a car "before its gone". We all prefer to be an intelligient consumer that buys on facts instead of emotions.
Quoted from vid1900:Relax, when the game is done, there will be official video.
AHHHHHHHHHH, arms flailing in air. Running in circles screaming!!!!!
It is at Gameworks. I posted this in another thread:
I usually go to Gameworks to check out each new Stern and even for the games I don't end up liking, I'll play them a couple dozen times at least. My wife and I played Avengers Pro the other night and we were happy to walk away after two 2-player games. I would definitely like to give it a few more plays (you can't ever make a solid opinion after two games) but I'm not really in any hurry to do it. Everything was such a long shot that it felt like there was very little shot variety and made for what seemed like pretty slow and boring play to us. Also felt the whole Hulk area was a clunky mess.
I'm not a Stern hater at all, in fact I own/want several of their machines. However, I seem to be in a slump when it comes to their recent releases. I like X-men alright and ACDC was OK (more a theme issue for me I guess). Other than that, I'm just not feeling the last few games, especially Avengers. I already had my money set aside to drop down on a Star Trek if it happens, but my feelings on the last several games is making the prospects of a sight-unseen purchase a little more questionable.

Not just sticker shock but space-shock! A bunch of us already have a bunch of games, and there are only so many spots for new games before you have to sell some...and in my case, I really don't want to sell any unless it's going to be replaced with something absolutely incredible. Also, I'm really enjoying playing my collection so - I've sort of hit that realization that I don't NEED another game...I have plenty to entertain myself. So - unless there's something really magical about a new pinball release, I've got the willpower to hang back.

I just find it strange to sell out the LE's, then they were packing LE's the other day, then they have a tester out there to potentially change things - just seems very backward.

Same as TF. Same as X-Men. LE owners are guinea pigs.
Not weird when it fits in their timeline...not ours.
The game is being designed by George Gomez and will almost certainly feature at least one limited edition model.
There will be an official announcement with details of the models available, the characters, the playfield features and the gameplay at the end of this month.
It is possible some Limited Edition models will be available for the holiday season, but the main launch to the trade will most likely be at the EAG-Expo show in London in January.
We'll bring you much more about Stern's upcoming Avengers game over the coming weeks and months here at Pinball News.
Quoted from swinks:potentially change things - just seems very backward.
If you are into cameras, then you have seen where Canon puts out some new cameras with pro photographers "into the wild" for final testing.
If you are into cars, then you have seen where Ford puts cars out in traffic with bras and fabric on them so testers can put real miles on them "out in the wild".
These cameras, cars and pinball machines are 99% done. But they need real world testing before they are ready for the public.
Sure, the designer knows where a certain function is, but can a user find it in an intuitive way? Can the driver find the horn in an emergency (remember the Escort, where the horn was not in the middle of the steering wheel?)? Are game times too long/short with average players?
If you put a game/car/camera out for testing too soon, the cat gets out of the bag (especially in the internet age).
Everyone needs to relax.
Sorry but this does feel weird. The video is already shot game ships in less than a week I'd imagine if its to be here by Christmas. I've already paid for a Hulk and them not showing a video is making me very uncomfortable enough to where Ive considering changing my order to an AC/DC. It just doesn't make sense to me that they would put there game on a location where I could walk in and make a video and post it faster than they release what they want us to see. I can't imagine they would want to rely on one of us to have the first visual footage of their game out for all to see.

I am starting to think in 3 months time XM will be rated as a better game than Avengers.........but just guessing.
Personally not have the original movie voices is a downer for me. Prefer bad rips and authentic voices as in IM than other way round.
I don't understand why, when people raise valid concerns, others to tell them to "relax". I find it hypocritical and condescending.

The game is actually shipping in a couple of days. The game is done enough to ship but not enough to capture some video footage? The video doesn't need to encompass the whole ruleset. Currently there's nothing even showing shot layout. Sorry, but your post didn't feel helpful.

I'm hearing Video has been shot, but editing takes time.
Quoted from Gexchange:I'm hearing Video has been shot, but editing takes time.
Editing a 15 minute video or whatever they are gonna produce should not take more than a few days IMO.
So now we are telling them when they should shoot the video and how long it should take them to edit it? U guys are a bunch of card carrying wearouts!
Quoted from Benepinballs:U guys are a bunch of card carrying wearouts
I think were a bunch of excited, cautious, pinball freeks looking for the next high and hoping to snag one if it looks good.
Sterns marketing is a reflection of Gary's attitude towards collectors. IMHO
It's weird that Stern hasn't released a vid yet. Equally weird is that Pinside knows where a live machine is in public, and nobody seems to be able to come up with so much as a picture.
Let's articulate this another way. People in this hobby are passionate and get excited about new releases. Competitors have entered the market like JJP that are showing videos of features, Skitb showing videos while building, and JPOP streaming live video during the development process. Like it or not times they are a changing. $7K for a game - ask for money up front or pre-order before they sell out - you need to share more for that wallet share trust.
While we may not have all articulated well, suggesting everyone relax is not a logical response. No one is personally attacking Gary, but rather excited for Stern and expressing utter dismay why they are not proud enough of their product to share info of their product especially seeing how some are boxed up already. I really want Stern to succeed but instead of antagonizing collectors with facebook posts that taunt, develop a real relationship using the medium. Yeah, it won't all be complimentary but you'll gain that trust from customers who want you to succeed and support you.
Times they are a changing.
We'll see soon enough. But
Quoted from Cheeks:. My wife and I played Avengers Pro the other night and we were happy to walk away after two 2-player games.
Please tell us more when you can. I know you said more than this, but I am sure anybody who put $$$ down on the preorder is crapping themselves since this appears to be the first and only review.

relax, it's officially here.

It's such a soothing response though...
The game video is out, everyone can relax including those who were too illogical to relax.

Love the Ronnie Milsap song in the background....
Does the player control Hulk at any point? That would be pretty cool if it was actuated like the Phurba ramps.
I wish Stern would use more highlights and in its playfields, they are so dark. I was struck by how dark and muddled the playfield seemed on TF and it seems the same here. I think Sterns art production is a bit of a bore.
I'd like to see Youssi get free reign with art production as Ritchie has with design. Lyman, Ritchie and Youssi would be amazing.
I wonder why they went back to the divided screen on the DMD? Did anyone really like that? Custom dots sound like a good thing and look nice.
The biggest eyesore on the game is the riveted together cube. Everything else looks pretty good to me.
Quoted from DugFreez:The biggest eyesore on the game is the riveted together cube. Everything else looks pretty good to me.
Same here. I'm betting the first must-have "mod" for Avengers will be a rivet-free cube.

It seemed like the animation would go full like during the captain America pop bumper animation. Seemed like a good compromise.
I do agree the cube is horrible and knowing its lineage a total pos. replace the cube with anything, maybe even remove it would be an improvement.
