A black panther model is on the plastics, if one could be done so the ball passed under it along the wireform that would be great!

Pym Labs could definitely be done in comic form with a hint of the movie in it as the movie logo just looks better.

My tower and sanctum look fantastic. I definitely second the need for a PYM Labs mod. It would be so cool if the vuk shot up out of the building.

Hey guys, I’m considering getting these mods and have a question on the sanctum. Now that the light moved from shooting over the disk to straight at you does it give light on the disk or it doesn’t really change.

I haven’t really noticed any significant change. Staring at the new sanctum can be a bit bright but I never really find myself looking directly into that light during gameplay.

The flasher that was above the disk is now behind the top round Sanctum window, so it is not directly aimed at the disk. To me this is perfectly fine...

Anyone else having the Problem that the Tower didn’t get deep enough to cover the ball1 lock led ?

And any solution for that ?

Same ....just installed ......I notice that theres a cut out for the magnet ..... I'm wondering if it is getting hung up there.....possibly take a dremel to that area and dig out 1/8 of and inch to get it to seat lower.... or take a piece of styrene and cut it into a thin strip to extend the tower by an 1/8 to cover led just a little more..... the glare off the habit trail is the worst though

Just checked my Premium. Same issue. What is happening is the left rear hidden corner of the Tower is being stopped by the plastic over the upper left outer orbit ramp. As you press down on the building you can see the plastic move, and reaching around the back you can feel the left rear resting on the plastic.

Next time I need to raise the playfield the tower is coming out as is the Dremel. Little disappointed with this kind of fit issue for the price...at least if done right that area is hidden so the cutout won't be seen in the Tower.

Keep us posted please wondering how think the plastic is in this section

I'm planning on grinding down the rear left corner of the tower. I'm not trimming that plastic, Stern's plastic can easily crack in too many undesired ways even if careful.

Definitely not, I deinstalled the magnet and it’s still the same. I also think that the metal where the opto boards are mounted hit the top

That may be as well, but we won’t know until we can get it from bottoming out on the ramp plastic at the left rear. See my post above.

On mine there is space between the tower and the left rear plastic

That’s what I thought as well. Press down on the top of the Tower, you will see that plastic move. It’s touching in the left rear, not visible from the front.

I do wish Tmezel would speak up on this issue.....

Just saw this. Will have Kristin respond here. She has to talk to our designer this afternoon. She will make it right.

Reading the installation instructions it mentions handling the wire in such a way in order to seat the tower fully.

Could this be the problem for any of you?

no

#122 3 years ago

I’m having the same issue as all others. Tower is not seated low enough to cover lock 1 green LED.

#123 3 years ago

We are aware of this issue- no need to send an email. I'll be updating you all here either later this evening or first thing in the morning.

#124 3 years ago

Yes same issue here on the tower too high

#125 3 years ago

Are we able to return the tower for one that works? I wouldn’t be comfortable taking a dremel to this mod.

#126 3 years ago

Same tower issue as everyone else is having. Besides that love the mod

#127 3 years ago

Yes I'm having the same issue as well with the Lock 1 light.

#128 3 years ago

Not to pile on with the issues but did anyone have an issue with the sanctum mod? I had to drill out the mounting holes for my screws to fit. Then the square guides for the LED boards were to small for the board to fit so i had to carefully cut those bigger with a knife.

Had the square guide issues, also made them bigger with a knife. 2 sided guides like they did for the top versus the 3 sided guides would have solved that....

I didn't have an issue with the screw holes. The guides for the LED boards were too small for the boards to fit between. One slot was maybe just barely big enough for the board to fit by squeezing/snapping it in firmly while the others spots were too narrow, but I was still able to secure them all in the right alignment by using a bit of electrical tape to hold them in place along with the included double sided tape. Would have been an easier install if the spaces for the boards had been a bit wider though.

Mod looks amazing and works great installed though! Really nice to be able to actually see what the lights are telling you is available at the Sanctum target.

#131 3 years ago

i didn't have any issue with the board guides, fit perfectly. I did drill the mounting holes a little bigger using a 3/32" bit, simple fix...looks awesome!

I agree those small little tweaks don’t take much but I do love the stuff they have been putting out lately between this and TMNT good work

No issues here with the sanctum mod, fit perfectly on my Premium.

Getting the sanctum mod installed was one of the worst experiences I've had applying a mod thus far, unfortunately, though that is more due to the game's construction than being a fault of the mod's. The mod itself is fine, though the tape for the LED boards is kind of meh (and there isn't much of it), but I didn't have enough slack on the wires for those LED boards to be able to pull the mod to any comfortable position to attach the screws, and I wasn't about to remove a bunch of complex habitrails for something so simple, and I ultimately had to get out some pliers and turn one of the metal brackets on the pop bumper's plastic to make it align with the holes in the sanctum mod.

Thank you for your patience while we sorted through the Tower Lock 1 light issue. We have an update in production that will fix this issue for all current customers. This update will be shipped in the next few days to relevant customers. The update is a clean, quick to install using our installation procedure and video (see below).

This update will be integrated into all open/unshipped tower orders automatically. No need to make a special request.

We are presently experiencing extremely high volumes and our team is working as quickly as possible to fulfill orders. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

I've also passed along your feedback on the Sanctum for consideration as well.

Thanks for putting the effort in on the fix on this but I’m not sure its fully fixes the problem. The problem I still have is that the inserts on the tower are not lined up with the LED’s on the board. The led is about 1/8” below the insert on my game. As this stacks up to the top insert it gets more noticeable. It looks more like light bleed over than a direct light behind. The inserts need to be shifted down if the entire tower is not going to drop down any further.

By design. The short explanation to have the tower in its current design and be able to see the all three lights (lock 3 not very visible in factory version), the light display is *moved down*.
Email [email protected] if you want to understand more detail. I've reached my post limit for 2020 on Pinside today :0)

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I wound up returning mine for this very reason. With the top LED moved, I found that area of the playfield looked a lot darker to me, more than I cared for. I’d probably have lived with it if not for the fact that the new mount location for the light positioned it in such a way that it was too bright shining toward my eyes and was distracting. I may have been able to mount an additional spot light to brighten up the disk area and a yellow gel to change the white tower light may have helped the glare, but I ultimately decided to just send it back. It’s too bad because I really liked the look. Having said that, the return process was very smooth. I kept the Avengers tower though, that one is great!

Quoted from fastchef:

#140 3 years ago

I bought both the tower and sanctum and they both are aesthetically beautiful. The sanctum light in my opinion needs to be diffused more and/or redirected some how. Ideally an additional light would be added due to the loss of the overhead light (moving definitely helps with visibility), makes it a lot darker.

For those that like playing in a low/no light setting, this change makes it more difficult to see the disc and the reconfigured overhead light now shines in your eyes a bit and can be distracting.

Great mods, look forward to getting the fix. Thanks!

Agree 100%. The question I have for MezelMods is that going forward are the revised Towers going to have the green lenses line up correctly with the LEDs by adjusting the assembly downward as it should be, or are they going to be the same as this "fix" by just gluing on a piece of plastic, extending the bottom of the assembly, and the LEDs miss the green lenses? If the future Towers will be changed to have the green lenses lined up correctly I feel the first run buyers should be given the option to swap out their faulty towers for the newer corrected versions at no cost to the buyers.

I agree with this. I would rather have a fixed unit to install. My tower arrived yesterday so it is not installed yet. Is this an option?

Potential tower buyer here... waiting to see the response. Would like to hear feedback from other buyers as to whether they feel the led positioning with respect to the green lenses is satisfactory with the original. Sometimes things get blown out of proportion on Pinside (say it isn’t so), so I’m having difficulty determining what to do. Previous response by the company to a post above to “email support for more details” (I’m paraphrasing) didn’t sit well with me. What is the public response for this with regards to the led vs lens position?

Your sentiment is perfectly understandable, and believe me when I say that Tower looks fantastic overall, but for the cost it should. I've been a Mezelmods buyers many times over, and had no problem purchasing this for the price based upon their past standards of quality products. This is not up to their normal standards.

#146 3 years ago

I'm just wondering how many towers they sold on the first run, I ordered on 10/31 and it took 2 weeks to get. So I'm imagining that they sold a ton of these at 140 bucks a pop. I would hope theres a better fix then glueing a piece of plastic on this model and still having the issue of stuff not line up properly.

#147 3 years ago

I saw a few posts about the led flasher being too bright when the sanctum is installed. I hadn't really noticed it much, but thought I could easily tone it down. I added a blue gel filter to it, ones you can find on Amazon or eBay that are used for stage lighting. Works perfectly. I tried multiple colors and dark blue works the best. I took a short video. it's hard to see the color in the video, but it's blue and the harshness is no longer there.

Great mod!!

after seeing the fix i decide to try myself with a dremel. What a nightmare !

First i demount the tower and the whole ramp. i removed the optoboard to see where i have to cut the tower. I first dremel the sides and the corner of the back from the tower. It looks so much better, but still not enough ,i had to set the wires of the tower flasher to an other position and voila it fits. I remounted the opto boards and bring everything back in position. i found out that now the connectors of the opto boards hit the tower some dremel correction and then it fits. I mount the ramp back to the playfield, bring back the coil at the top of the ramp and reinstall the tower and now the screw of the towercoil hit the top.
So again time to dremel the top at the middle. After 3 hours of work it fits now perfectly.

if you try to do it yourself, you have to remount the tower ramp otherwise you will not see where to dremel this tower.

not what i expected for such an expensive toy

here are some pictures...
