AllenLeper thank you! We just got an IAQ Pro and LOVE it! But are in need of direction. Your flash cards are phenomenal! OMG! Can't wait to watch the video (maybe a few sessions while on treadmill). Thank you so much!

Hey Zatname!
Thanks for the nice words, I appreciate it.
Im happy to give you my honest opinion on AIQ. If you end up watching the stream, which I strongly recommend before selling your machine as it may very well change your mind, youll notice at the end that I talk about how I feel about AIQ overall.
I am a VERY harsh critic of pinball machines. Admittedly so. Most games feel lacking to me in numerous ways. Either the shots feel unfulfilling, or the rule set is boring or underproduced, there isnt enough content to make the game fun for more than a few weeks, or a number of other things. In my opinion, AIQ is the exact opposite. I believe its the best overall pinball machine of the modern era. The shots are amazing, feel great, and are HITTABLE for the average player. The code is absolutely INSANE and, although very intricate and "complicated", is deep enough to offer an amount of future replayability that few other machines can offer. I personally feel like the pinball machines that are most worth owning are the ones that have multiple options for types of gameplay. What I mean by that is: you can play AIQ for completion, getting to and beating Thanos. Or you can build ENTIRE games around one small specific goal and turn the machine into a completely different game. For example, if I want to get the biggest Gamma Ray Hurry-Up score, Im going to spend the whole game getting the Power Gem to power up Hulk, then the Reality Gem to multiply the Hulk shot, and focus on playing Gamma Ray as many times as possibly, avoiding most other aspects of the game. And thats just one of the small parts of the game.
In conclusion, I think AIQ is an incredible investment, and I think at some point in the future, near or far, people will start to pick it up and see how awesome it is. So like I said earlier, check out the tutorial when you get some time and try to mimic what Ive done and see if that helps you understand and makes the game more fun. I have a feeling that it will.
And if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

I am a HUGE marvel fan and Thanos is my favorite character of all time. When the stream for this pin broke I was initially disappointed by callouts, animations, music etc. I went with TMNT instead because this didn't "look" as fun to me (and my kids). We finally got to play an AIQ Pro last week and loved it so much that I was so lucky to nab a local Pro from a great seller. I am blown away by this pin and how different it is to other pins. Honestly sooooo different and unique. TMNT is fun and we loved it for a year. But I can't see AIQ getting old. The code is phenomenal, the complexity of strategies you can employ, the fact that the modes will force you to learn flipper techniques and make you a better pinball player. We barely notice the screen, animations, callouts and they feel so irrelevant vs what's going on in the PF. Perhaps its a honeymooning period...but I don't think so...this feels different!

I agree! I think, especially if youre committed to learning the game, which it seems like you are, that youll enjoy the game for a long time. I also have a feeling that at some point, theyll put out an audio visual mod like they did with Jurassic Park, where you can have all the movie assets instead of the factory ones. Thatll be cool to see.

Glad you like the cards, if you have any questions feel free to get in touch!

What a life saver Allen. Made the game much easier to understand. It’s not like the old days where I used to play one pin for months to figure it all out.

And AIQ is just confusing to begin with

I played AIQ Premium back in July while on vacation at Flipper's in Grandy NC. for the 1st time. I had no idea what I needed to shoot, so this video will help next time I'm in battle.
NIB Premium should be here within 10 days.

Looks like the Avenger's got to the game before me. I lost a "Gem".

Have not heard anything yet. But was asked if I even checked to see if it was ok. I Said is that how you shipped it? I'll like 90° angles on all corners.

That didn't just tip over....it looks as if it was dropped off a roof.

Just wanted to give you massive props for this tutorial and stream. I got an AIQ Premium back in April or so and the game is fun but the code is so deep and, at times, frustrating. Losing a gem is brutal and not being able to replay it without first getting the Soul Gem and then risking it for the lost gem is just wild.

Your strategies and explaination are all great and helped me understand the game better. Executing it is a completely different can of worms. While I'm considering selling my AIQ because I just don't think the code is to my liking, I wanted to make sure I gave you massive props for putting this together in such a well organized and thorough manner!

Thanks Pluto, Im glad all the info has helped out. I will also say that I ran through the same phase youre in now. For a while I hated the defend your gems mode and thought it was kind of crappy to do that after all my hard work. But once I got pretty consistent with the shots, I found that I really enjoyed the mode, and could either beat it, OR plan which gem I wanted to lose, or simply avoid playing it by not getting the soul gem. There are a few good options to make things easier.

Thank you for making this! Just got a premium last week and I’m loving it, but the rules and strategy are certainly tough to grasp.

Ok, BUMP and I finally got my premium on Thursday and haven't had time to open it yet. My wife said open it up I can't believe you haven't. I said yes I better hurry up before the other NIB gets here. She didn't freak out so to me that's a green light. Buy, Buy, Buy. Here's my question: Just bought a new printer to print instruction cards. Just wanting to know if these cards are all needed and up to date. Thanks
PS Great work

#70 2 years ago

I can't nearly do anything you do, including rhe flipper tricks and such as a relative newbie, but you've really helped me grasp the goals here, and after some adjustments to the difficulty on my Pro, I've managed to snag a few gems, get through the Soul Gem, and even make it to the 5th Gem (me with 2, Thanos with 3).

I will be playing this for a long time. Thanks again.

Hey Spiderpin!
Yes! The cards are all on current code and very up to date. And, as far as I know, correct. Best of luck with the new machine, if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch!

Youre welcome! It sounds like youre doing really well. Happy to help out. Once you know all the rules, you can focus on learning those flipper tricks and turning a decent game into a really long great one.

I would LOVE to follow this guide but I can't even get the mind gem. I've been practicing the quest for about 4 days and show no improvements

The less you try the better you’ll do.

For me I sit in a weird "consistent" curse. if I try or stay lax, or not care I will have the same results and the same outcomes and patterns despite changing my play style and mindset

Hardest part is having to get the sanctum shot at the end (apparently if you dont free all the specified mind controlled avengers). It really is more of patience and its a very quick mode if you dont go for scoring.

My strategy if i want to get in and out without constant risks of trying to stack the scores...

1: Hit a lit shot
2. then banana loop into the upper flipper (its my more consistent method of making the spinner shot less risky) and hit the spinner
3. trap the ball till spinner stops. I have the disc mod so it spins a lot. And once disc is spinning, all lit shots are turned off till the damage is applied. So no point of shooting and possibly messing it up.
4. repeat 2 more times till going for sanctum shot.
5. Banana loop and try to get teh sanctum shot from there. I've had more success that way

If i'm having a game where i'm in the zone, i'll hit multiple lit shots before hitting the spinner to multiply the score for that damage attack.
