I love my LE. Mirror blades, chrome apron 3 double spot lights the OCD board the moving and the ceramic ball and a few other mods I've done to mine really make it special. I'd like to get the color dmd some day. Enjoy

Can anyone answer a question? My Pro will not allow me to set the installs to anything other than easy. When I try to set to anything more it says Can not install?

What extra sounds and lighting effects are in the LE vs the Pro? I know there’s the toy differences and the power ball and of course the delicious chrome, but just curious. Thanks

I don't think there is any sound differences other than the call outs for the Navi-Ball. I think lighting is the same. I have an LE but haven't played a pro but once or twice. On a separate note, I have noticed that on the LEs the AMP legs may crack at the knuckle. I had to replace mine and I have seen some listed on EBay with broken legs.

They crack on the pro aswell, because stern just put screws in to fix and the force of the mechanism just pulls the knuckle onesided. It's poorly made...

I think the rocking motion is just too much stress on the leg.

I’ve had a pro for a year then upgraded to an LE, some extra callouts with Navi-ball and a few sounds I never heard on my pro. As for lighting it’s the same.
Thanks that helps me with weighing out a modded pro vs LE, sounds like for the audio/visual it’s mainly Navi Ball extras. I know Tron was similar with DPmb and also had different sounds for the drop targets, but that was it.
Anyone ever make a replacement link bed mod or pop bumper caps? A more detailed 3D printed link bed would be awesome

Not that I am aware of but a lighted link-pod would be awesome...hint to anyone with the creativity and knowledge.
I’ve seen some people added an led strip either under the lid or under Jake with some material under him. But would be great to completely replace the ‘glasses case’ with a 3D printed link bed that has more accurate movie details and lighting included.
Also the pop bumper nipple caps need a makeover, maybe the round turbines from the scorpion could make pop toppers with a red pop ring under them or something.

...or make them look something like the floating seed pods...maybe translucent.

A few years ago I modded my caps with mini domes and they turned out great. I posted pictures so look for them.

For all you blue monkeys that upgraded your audio - what worked for you?
Did you have success just changing out the backbox speakers, or did you need to do a whole speaker kit + amp upgrade?
I hooked up an external sub and that did a ton for bass, but I’d still like more clarity and treble. I know each title and system is different so just curious what worked for you with this Sam system and soundtrack.

I went with Flipper Fidelity with adjustment knob. Can send more up to the back-box if using an extendable sub. Good quality price, easy install.

Thanks for commenting, the FF system for Sam on their site doesn’t show an extra volume control, it just shows 3 speakers for $90 and says “A little less bass than my original system, but overall higher volume output.” Wondering if I’m not seeing the best FF option for this system….
I saw the Pinball Pro system for Sam has the 3 speakers and a controller for $150, with an upgraded cab sub option for additional $50. I don’t want to over invest in the audio on this title but just want to make sure I get some proper clarity and volume.

Been having fun modding this thing since I got it last week, not sure if anyone has tried this but I took the one way gate out up top and am loving it! It adds a lot of flow and there’s still plenty of time in the pops just not as forced. Of course I don’t have that spring thing so I can shoot the ball up into the pops (when my aim is working
I just added an extra small rubber ring to that post where the spring goes and don’t have a sdtm issue. It also makes the skill shot now actually require some skill so that you don’t over plunge, while also nice to dive into a full plunge orbit.
Incase anyone was wondering the new Mcfarlane Scorpion fits great and adds a great element to ripping the left spinner!
Will see how long I can resist the temptation to try & light it up…some flashing in conjunction with the spinner would be sweet, and maybe a light in the cockpit

Also, one of my Pops is missing the LED. Were those special LEDs in the pops? Any other cool mods people can recommend?

Looks great with LEDs on top and bottom, but if you do the underside you need to get the Led Ocd board as others have mentioned on here. You can pick it up from Comet if you get Leds from them, it takes 5 mins to install and allows the insert lights to perform like a modern pin (not just harsh on/off epilepsy) - it just adds a chunk to your bill. You can get any wedge bulb for your pop bumpers too, some use warm white, I went with orange.
The bird thing is Jake’s Banshee you can get off eBay and it snaps together in like 10 pieces, on our ‘pro’ model there’s a screw in the top center of the backboard that’s perfect for mounting it, just get an L bracket that has 2 holes on each side of the L and don’t put the last skinny tail piece on the Banshee. Then you can use the top hole of the bracket to go where that factory screw is, use the hole just under it to screw into the Banshee where the tail piece was supposed to pop in, and on the underside of the tail use the hole at the end of the L bracket to put another screw up into the tail from below.
Following suit with what ArcadeBar did by adding a McFARLANE AT-99 Scorpion Gunship.
I did the same with a twist by adding the following lighting to the gunship:
- Lighted up the cockpit
- Added super bright water clear red 8000mcd LEDs to the missile area of the left and right sides of the wings. They blend in and are not noticible until active.
- Added a blinking LED on the top
I added the following controls via custom microcontroller:
- Monitors the gunship spinner for activity and flashes the missile LEDs
- Monitors if the machine is active or idle.
- When a game is active, the top LED blinks.
- When the machine is idle, the top LED stops flashing, the gunship will do four attract mode effects by flashing the missile LEDs and sometimes blinks the top LED.

My Leg Lights and Cup Lights look great on any game. Here's a shot of a good customers set-up.

Curious if this is part of the rules, or if I have a switch in the lock area that is too sensitive and the pops are setting it off..... Thanks for any help.
