I just saw it in Imax 4D at a Regal theater. I would strongly suggest people avoid the 4d experience! I think they were trying for a Soarin' type feel with moving and vibrating seats, and the occasional smells, wind and water spays in your face. But the seat shaking was SO violent, my wife, 24 y/o son, and I all left with sore necks and mild headaches. The shaking was constant and violent and not well choreographed to the action on screen. You couldn't eat your popcorn without it literally being thrown all over your lap and the floor! And forget trying to take a drink, unless you wanted to get really wet. The constant violent shaking was actually stupid, and I will never go to a Regal Theaters 4d event again! If they reduced the frequency significantly and cut the intensity by 75%, I think it would have worked a lot better. Lest you think I am being a wimp, I enjoy all of the immersive rides at WDW and Universal and have not had such a bad experience at any of those.
As far as the movie itself, it was enjoyable but about 45 minutes too long. The 3d effects themselves were good, but then again I'm a big 3d fanatic! All in all, worth seeing in 3d - not 4d, but not quite as big a bang for your buck as the initial novelty of the first release.
