So I've noticed the auto plunge on my Star Trek pro has been getting weaker and weaker to the point where the balls are not even getting to the pops.

I pulled the assembly, checked the spring, lubricated the linkages, and...no change.

So on a whim I pulled the balls and wiped them down and then did a good Novus 1 on the playfield and shooter lane. Especially the shooter lane.

    Problem...solved? Really?

I'm a newb and ST is my first pin, but does a dirty playfield and shooter lane really slow the auto plunge that much?

Thanks guys. I did one wax after the first clean and was planning to do another this weekend. Will do a more complete Novus 1 first.

    Balls were replaced at Christmas.

Wouldn't have traced the problem to dirt if I hadn't seen it.
