The center ramp for the time machine is a problem. The opto as you enter the ramps works perfectly. The problem is the switch in the middle of the ramp. It is just a poor design and that is the switch that registers if you've entered the time machine. Most of the time, and I do mean most, it doesn't get triggered. If the ball hugs the left or right side of the ramp, the switch isn't triggered. Also, if I send a straight shot with too much force, it skips right over the switch. Has anyone modified that switch to cover more area? I'm seriously considering running that switch off the opto. It would give me some false positives when the ball goes up and doesn't enter, but that sounds better than hitting it five times and getting no positives.

Thoughts?

I've manually tested the switch and adjusted it to activate at the slightest pressure. When I move the ball along the edge of the ramp, it barely makes contact with the switch. Maybe my switch was replaced and the new one is a shade skinnier? I'm also wondering if my ramp is at the correct pitch. It has a pronounce dip at the base when the metal plate is and it causes the ball to jump when launched at high speed.

Hey, I picked up one of those too! I haven't added it yet. Is it just the lighting or is your ramp switch wider at the base? Mine isn't.

Thanks for the pics. I swear mine must be thinner. Mine has a bigger gap and more play between the ramp and the switch. I'll check when I get home.

Worked on it last night and it is better. It looks like that, over the years, previous owners have tightened down the two front screws on the ramp so much that it has lowered the front edge which has increased the slope. So, when I launched a ball up the ramp, it would get air and travel over the switch. I place a piece of velcro under the ramp and screwed the ramp down on it. This increased the height a bit and decreased the slope of the ramp.
