Crossing streams a bit here but I’m sure many of you also dabble in sound systems (or potentially sell them) and I’m always interested in getting opinions

Right now I’m running a 5.1 system in my gameroom:

Focal Aria 926 towers
Focal Aria CC900 center
Focal Aria 906 surrounds
SVS SB3000 sub
Denon AVR X3700

Lately I’ve been thinking about switching up some or all of it

Recommendations I’ve had include:
-switching to an Anthem MRX series receiver or going the processor/amp separates route
-adding height speakers
-replacing the Arias with something along the lines of Paradigm Founder 100f, Revel F208, Goldenear Triton 1r, etc

Curious to hear other recommendations if you have any

Quoted from JBtheAVguy:

Your Denon receiver is a nice unit but your Focal speakers really need a better amplifier. You could use the Denon as your processor connected to a separate multichannel amplifier.
Height speakers might be a trick, that room is an acoustic nightmare.
I do have experience with Revel...very nice speakers.
I would say you should first and foremost focus on the Denon replacement/upgrade. The processor is pretty good it's your amplifier that is your weakest link here.
Consider Monitor Audio. I was reluctant to sell these at first but then gave them a try and they far exceeded my expectations. It's the only brand I sell these days along with their amplifiers and my customer response in every case has been very positive.
There's so many good speakers out there. Listen to whatever your interested in first.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve decided to upgrade to an anthem MRX 740 and perhaps add a power amp at a later point. I actually really like the Paradigm Founder 100fs as potential speaker replacements
