I am also looking for a clamshell plastic. If anyone has found a place to procure reproductions, please PM me.
If someone can scan the original plastic at 100%, save it as a .pdf file and let me know how thick it is.... I can help.

I have a scan and I am sure thickness is standard size. Let me know.

Quoted from RacingPin:I'm missing the center plastic over the kick-out saucer (circled in green in the photo below). Have been unable to locate this and I see most are broken any ways. Can someone with this plastic get me a good scan of it. I'm going to make the plastic.

I believe I have a nice original on my game, as well as a repro that was made in Europe. Will pm you
OP and I have exchanged a couple messages. Waiting to hear whether he had the means to reproduce the plastic.
I don't have a way to scan my original, but would gladly let someone scan it to do a run of repros.
Quoted from OTTOgd:Here's a pdf but it doesn't have the cutting-shape reference.
Thank you so much for posting that PDF!! I'll see what I can do with it

Quoted from pinmaven:Has anyone been able to make one? I need one as well!
I have been able to reproduce the plastic to the correct size. Just need to be able to make the print onto the plastic. I am getting closer to having a good replacement.

Quoted from Tsskinne:I could use one of these plastics if anyone reproduces them.
I am getting ready to reproduce this clamshell plastic for my Stingray. I have a very good high-res scan I'm tweaking in Photoshop, and a local shop that can now make acrylic laser cut plastics with incredible printing quality direct to plastic. If anyone wants one, I'll do extras for $18.00 shipped in USA.
Put me down for one. I have been working on a reproduction as well, but other things got in the way.

I will take one.
If some one makes it, I am in need of one also. Just picked up a stingray last week, non-working and still taken apart right now. Has not been put together in years. It's on my list to get the legs on it soon.
Quoted from thepinballworks:My homemade version. Definitely not perfect. Works for now.

Submit a pic of the broken plastic with a ruler next to it. For the reproduction I am trying to do, I need an orginal to get measurements. If you can lay it on grid paper as well that would help with the inner arch.
Thanks
Mike

Hello all, I just bought my first pin which happens to be Stingray project pin. It's in ok shape but needs plenty of love. If anyone has any tips, tricks or resources that I can go to, it would be greatly appreciated.
Quoted from rvalkenburg:So who has one of these plastics for sale?
I have been able to make the plastic. Still cant seem to find a way to put the image on it. I wanted to try to silk screen, but no luck. I also haven't been able to find a place that will print it on either. Any suggestions?
Mike
I was hoping doghouse was going to make some to sell us, but it has been 5 months since his post above
Quoted from BioBa:I'm about finished making a replacement for my broken one. Just laser cutting the plastic at the moment. PM me if you want one. $15.50 including postage.[quoted image]
Put me down for 1. PM me with info and I'm in!

Nice, my buddy needs one
I purchased the clamshell from BioBa. A very nice reproduction! My Stingray has three different screws inserted into the posts that attach the clamshell. From the pics I've seen, this is not correct, since it appears a castle nut holds the clamshell down to the two side posts originally. What is the post screws supposed to look like? Part number/place to order? Thanks!
clamshell2 (resized).jpgGot my replacement from BioBa. Thanks it looks great. Can you tell me how you did the actual artwork? How was it made?
Would like to use that method on other projects.
