I've been on a lot of threads and spoken to many others who would love to see a Back to the Future pin get made.
I thought I would start this thread to see just how many of us there are out there and to discuss any interesting ideas you may have had about the possibilities of this game. I decided to make this a Stern thread because I can actually afford their games and they put out enough titles annually that it wouldnt be a decade away. If there really is enough BTTF love maybe someone in power will take note eventually. I would jump on a good BTTF game.

To be fair to Stern. Maiden and Deadpool (and Beatles technically) both came out last year and neither have a fan layout. Also, fan layouts can still be great as long as there are some interesting innovations going on and a solid rule set. Most of the top rated pins are fans.
I just dont want it to have an upper or lower playfield. Not something I usually enjoy.

Just for the people who say nobody under 30 knows bttf. Here is my 5 yr old son's current favorite book.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Stern already surely knows plenty of Pinsiders want this game.
    So does deep root.
    So does JJP.
    So does everybody.
Another desperate poll ain't gonna tip the scales I'm afraid.

Still a nice place to chat about dreams and possibilities negative Nancy :p

    Quoted from Dkjimbo:

I voted yes ONLY because there was no option for "Please SOMEONE make it but not Stern."
Assuming licensing can be clean, i.e. all video and audio secured, music secured, DeLorean imagery secured, etc - this would be so much better executed in the hands of JJP. I like Stern a lot but they just do not have the business model in place to do justice to such a treasured franchise....anyone who disagrees can take a look at Star Wars for evidence of that.

Or Batman '66 for the opposite arguement. I've explained why I chose to make this a Stern thread. Cleary you chose option 4.

Star Trek, Star Wars, High Speed, Elvira, Black Knight...plenty of successful repeats. The Data East game sucks. This franchise deserves better.

    Quoted from Wakky:

Gary has stated he has no interest in revisiting this theme. His answer is 'Been there done that ' .
Time to move on he says .
    Cheers

Black Knight (and Elvira) cough cough

    Quoted from PanzerFreak:

Now you've gone full troll mode lol. Not surprised. Have fun with your two standard ramps, two orbits and bash toy for $6k - $9k!

Or spend 10k+ on a machine that requires monthly repairs? (I'm mostly teasing but cost is a very real factor to me)

    Quoted from chubtoad13:

If I got to choose it would be made at Stern with Ritchie, Sheets, and Franchi.
I would be in no matter who made it though. Unless it’s a no name company that may or may not send me a game.

    For me
    Borg/Elwin/Eddy
    Sheats (obviosly)
    Zombie Yeti/Franchi

A Brian Eddy, Lyman F. Sheats, Chris Franchi BTTF would be just about the best thing ever.

    #41 4 years ago
    Quoted from TheLaw:

Gary never *cough cough* made those machines.

Gary didnt make bttf either so what's your cough cough point? My point was he clearly has no problem revisiting themes as a company.

    #58 4 years ago
    Quoted from Wakky:

Um I think he did.. check the promo flyer that's Gary as Doc !

And in the Deadpool flyer as a cartoon character. Again, AS A COMPANY, Gary will revisit any profitable theme
Youre going to take Gary at his word? Money is king and Gary goes where the money is. There is plenty of money to be made if BTTF gets made.

    Quoted from chubtoad13:

I can’t wait for the “where’s the clock tower topper” thread

They will re release the Munsters topper as the clock that hit doc on the head lol

As long as they get the rights to the (full) movie clips and letting Frachi put his likeness on the backglass, I dont need Micheal J Fox to be any more involved. Christopher Lloyd should be doing the call outs anyway. Great Scott!
Also, having met Michael J Fox, I cant see him personally turning this down unless his managers tell him to. He might be one of the nicest, down to earth celebrities out there.

    #74 4 years ago
    Quoted from Wakky:

That's not true . When we spoke to Christopher Lloyd regarding MJF not being on the pinball he stated at the time Michael's contract agreements had finished and he was working on another film called Doc Hollywood. Fox is/was a huge pinball fan bit due to studio timings and contracts he was not able to be involved with Data East.
Straight from Christopher Lloyd himself. If you see him at any conventions just ask him and the answer will be the same.
He also said do not read into internet rumors or what is printed regarding Michael's absence as it's not true.

I'd heard the data east thing was a conflicting film contract but didnt have enough details to share my thoughts.

    Quoted from deeproot:

BTTF is unavailable. Said it twice already. Now the third time. They told us to stop asking and we are forbidden from going to MJF or CL. Sort of in same situation as BTLC and HP.
    —Robert

Didnt you also say we would have already had the 5 days of deep root? Nothing is forever. People change jobs, get fired, die or offered enough money to change thier minds. Companies get bought out and licenses change hands. Sure, Disney might own Stern and and half of the world by then but let a man dream.

    #94 4 years ago

If Disney owns Stern we will get 4 Bttf pinball machines. One for each movie plus the terrible remake they will make where Doc is a brilliant young woman and Marty's love interest. Sigh
