I ran a BBS called The Keep back in the late-80's, it was the HQ for Eclipse, which was based out of England. I still remember buying that first USRobotics 9600 HST. The BBS had to be up-and-running for a representative to call and login to get their SysOp special of $549. I would say 'those were the days,' but that would make me sound even older than I am.

The Psygnosis games were always something to show friends and the playability definitely improved after Barbarian, which suffered from delayed reaction. Sword of Sodan was a classic that got a lot of play and even Dragon's Lair had people looking in disbelief at the time. Here was a great story from Michigan last year where an Amiga was/is still running HVAC for a school district there:

And two Cinemaware classics, Defender of the Crown and The Three Stooges.

Quoted from toyotaboy:

ironic you picked those 2 titles "hey this looks like a kid's game!"

I completely forgot about that lead-in! Thanks for sharing as it took me back a few decades. I remember having communication with one of the programmers of DOTC while it was in development and I think it ended up being a much greater success than they had expected.

Alien Breed: Tower Assault, Cannon Fodder, Pinball Dreams, Fantasies, and Illusions... I am sorry I missed the Vintage Computer Festival Midwest this year, it was the first time I hadn't gone with my sons in quite a few years.

To continue with Amiga love, I currently have two Commodore 1084 monitors I have decided to sell that I could bring to Expo for pickup if anyone would be interested. I will see about getting details posted soon. Feel free to PM if you have any interest. Thanks.

To work the tie-in of Amiga and pinball, if anyone going to PATZ on Saturday would be interested in a Commodore 1084 or 1084S monitor, drop me a line. I have a few including some connection cables for systems. And of course depending on the source you can always use the composite inputs, which are great to have.

I figured I would BUMP this OT thread. It is all Commodore (not necessarily Amiga-specific) related. I have the following for sale:

Commodore Model 1084S-P monitor (built July 1988)
Commodore Model 1084S-P monitor (built November 1989)
Commodore Model 1084 monitor (built December 1987)
Commodore 128 Computer System
Commodore 1571 Disk Drive

All items are in good working condition. The monitors are great for the Amiga sync rate as well as accepting composite signals. As shown below, they have a Blu-Ray player connected to them for the Mad Max images. In addition to the original Commodore disks I have various software that will be included as well. Feel free to PM with any interest or questions. Thanks.

Amiga 3000UX, I believe the only Amiga I've never seen 'in the wild.'
