The media are absolute heroes in all this - we’ve gotten nothing but lies and incompetence from the people in charge, and the without the media the virus would still be “a hoax” officially.
This isn’t the media’s fault, and without the media we’d be completely screwed. We can thank the media for the changes in public policy, which of course have come way too late.

As far as the rest of your stuff delt - yeah, I agree. We could all use some good news and happy thoughts. That doesn’t mean we need to pretend everything is normal; that’s just not an appropriate or responsible response.
