Good work guys! Hopefully our friends from overseas will see some sort of "justice".

    #57 8 years ago

Bumping this to the top of the heap.

    #61 8 years ago

Awesome job! I hope something good comes of this. What he has done is just sickening, the fact that those in positions to help out haven't stepped in is even worse.

    Quoted from markmon:

I'm buying a product I can't find elsewhere. I'm not taking a stance on global warming or world peace. Geez

AKA all that matters is I get mine. Great community spirit. Hopefully our friends form overseas and here will remember this the next time you reach out for help.

    Quoted from markmon:

That'll be between me and him not me and the world.

Yea so I should go needing a part that can't be bought anywhere else to "support the community" while my dead machine remains a huge paper weight?

I do believe this to be a wee bit of an exaggeration. If you can't find it elsewhere you probably aren't looking hard enough. Like someone else said, at least your honest. Points for that I suppose.

    Quoted from JoeGrenuk:

Look, what happened to common sense and personal responsibility? There are "bad seller" threads on RGP, Pinside, and the Interwebs going back as far as February 2012. FOUR YEAR'S WORTH !!!!!!!!!If anyone even remotely cared about who they are sending money to, how about a simple Google search? If you Google Mad Amusements plus "bad seller", "Ripoff", or "Fraud", you get well in excess of A MILLION hits.
It takes a one-fingered typist about 14 seconds to do that search.
Sorry to say, and I know this will bring on a rain of thumbs down, but it is hard to have any sympathy for someone who sends money to someone they don't know and whose ridiculously-bad reputation is so damn easy to discover.
They don't know enough to come here or go to RGP to see if the guy is a putz, but they know enough to come here to whine about getting ripped off?????

Common sense? I was referring to someone that seems to think it's great to support someone accused of grand larceny and wire fraud that preys upon our community because it doesn't effect him. You want to talk about personal responsibility, it's people like him that keep this jokester in business. Every time one of you yahoos buys some parts from MAD it's supporting his operation and keeping his shady self in business. How about taking some responsibility. You are supporting a criminal enterprise. All because you are too cheap or lazy to look elsewhere. Last I heard MAD didn't have exclusive pin part rights.

    Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

Ordered a complete Stern NOS factory set of MET LE textured decals $40 in the past couple of months as spares for my machine. They are NOT some type of "Jeff's Arcade" craptastic garbage.
Received in 3 days via USPS Priority Mail.
Ordered parts from Mike for at least 10 years since the business was opened (I do not even recall when MAD Amusements started), I really do not know has happened.
Granted he is not Pinball Life or Marcos, but I don't recollect being burned on any orders.
Every opinion needs to be tempered.
Maybe the lottery got the best of him.

I think you are missing the big picture-domestic orders get shipped. We are ALL painfully aware domestic orders are received and seem to go out A-OK. As domestic buyers have consumer protections. International orders however don't. He takes the money via wire where there is no consumer protection and never ships the product. Most people trust a business as you mentioned that has been in business forever so they don't think twice about wiring the funds. He takes advantage of that and folks like you who continue to support him, help him stay in business. He preys on the international community and it is sickening.

    #119 8 years ago

I guess we have interpreted the posts differently. I have only ever seen it being reported as the international community being screwed as well as some suppliers. This has been going on for years. It sucks. He takes advantage of our fellow collectors/community and b/c folks domestically get there stuff they continue to support him and keep him afloat. As a Pinsider, having this knowledge, in my opinion, there is no reason to support him.

    #121 8 years ago

No, but for many it is the best way to bring awareness and warn others. These threads have kept many an international collector from falling victim and have helped inform our friends stateside about what is going on. Sadly the powers that be Attorney General, FBI (wire fraud), etc have not done much to bring about any kind of justice.

    Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

    There have been much worse.
    Placed orders repeatedly while overseas.
I have lived abroad nearly 12 years out of the last 20.
    Still received them.
    Guess I was just "lucky".
I have done my part and helped put certain individuals out of business when needed over time.
Most here would not even know who they were.
There really is no point explaining anymore that I am not supporting or condemning this seller.

People have had thousands of dollars stolen from them. We are not talking about some rubber ring kits and a couple of bulbs. It's a lot of money. Yeah, there have been worse, but that doesn't make this any less effed up. Theft is theft and folks should be warned. I'm not sure how you cannot condemn someone that is preying upon our community like so. It's theft. How is that not condemnable? He has a very specific scam going on and he knows that nothing legally can be done, so he keeps doing it.

Bob Roberts has been doing the Moon Pies forever and usually a handful of Mardis Gras bling during the festival as well. No one beats Bob!

Hey Guys, I reached out to the consumer protection division and the Attorney General in NJ. Both have been in contact with me concerning this matter. If you have been cheated by MAD and would like to pursue this with them please PM me and I will tell you what we need to do to get the ball rolling.

    #189 8 years ago

That sucks. I tried contacting some other NJ news stations as well without much luck. I don't have many connections in the media department down there.

I just started yet another Mad thread concerning the AG. Hopefully some folks will come forward and we can get the ball rolling.
