I picked up this AFM at the Ohio Show in 2013. I will attempt a thorough documentation of this restoration for your enjoyment. Keep in mind I am a hobbyist and not a pro.
Comments and suggestions welcomed...Enjoy
I was also fortunate enough to run into BillP (another pinsider) who offered to sell me a set of RED ramps (limited run from James). Thanks Bill.
Congrats! What a great pin AFM is. Have fun with your restoration, it will definitely be worth it!
Quoted from Skypilot:Although the new PF came and looked great I decided to send it out to a notable clear coat guy.
He buried it in clear!
"Buried in clear" isn't a good thing. In fact, I sent my Mirco AFM playfield to Chris at HEP, and one of the reasons that I did is because those have *too much* clear on them. I'm sure if this was a reputable clear coat guy, he knows this though.
Man I am jealous, I have been trying to find those red ramps for a long time. Enjoy the process it will be a great machine.
Are those screened or printed cab decals?
Man, the inside of the cab looks like they used it for a trash can.
The decals are "screen printed" from treasure cove.
As far as the trash can, you're not kidding. I'll take a photo of all the crap I get out of it.
wish u could restore the one near my place, the ball keeps getting stuck, and all it does is choke my money!!!!!good luck buddy!!!!!
Looks like an electrical panel circuit breaker was in there with the fluorescent light. Maybe the factory electrical repair guy was using it as a safe for his important parts.

TC has nice stuff and those decals look awesome. Pair those with the new PF and all the other parts the end game will be awesome when completed.
It always cool to see what you find in a machine you pick up. Usually when you stand it on end you hear something rolling around but that game has anything I dragged home beat for extra "stuff".
I found about $3.75 in quarters, a pop bumper bracket and lots of dead bulbs and rubber rings.
dang i wish my job had a pin in the lunch room but sometimes i can last longer than 30 mins..... yall so dirty get yo mind out the gutter
Quoted from cal50:No progress?????
You slacker!
Been busy adding new high scores on my RS.

Ouch!
99 balls per game ?
Glass on or off?
I am making a parts order that includes a set of next gen V2 cab decals for a NGG.
I have a really nice one but its going to be a really, really nice one*.
*(well maybe)
I also have a ToM that's in its final stage. The cabinet is ready for paint.I've decided to send it out for a high end painting. With that in mind I can get two cabinets done at once.
This is why Ive started on the cabinet first in this restoration.

I hate sanding. To many years of it.

High end painting....for some that brings back the Earl Scheib / Macco commercials.
They were so high end if you leave the windows down the interior is FREE.

I have a set of Red Ramps from Bay Area that I would sell. I would have to look at what I paid for them, let me know if you are interested.
Quoted from Skypilot:I decided to do the silkscreen warnings first. If I screw it up I can always repaint.
If you mess up warning text and the cabinet black paint is cured it's not a big deal. Wipes off pretty easily with mineral spirits so you don't have to repaint the black.
Did you create the screens yourself? I was wondering what I would do about my TAXI and its text on the rear of the game.
