"Private owner willingness to pre order pinball games that have not been released or in this specific case even revealed, including ANY proper details regarding the product, its construction, or even a designated production timeline is a direct propagation of pinflation in the market and denotes lack of proper judgement."

I read the PPS forums previously last week.

If enthusiasts justify that "PPS will be offering the AFMR for sale soon ... very exciting and some interesting things in this game" is an actual manufacturer game release statement, I guess I have lemon looking shaved ice I can sell you cheap for eskimos at the North Pole in the dead of winter. This is just a repeat of the "oopsie" leak statement less than two months ago.

Let us again resummarize:

- No construction timeline
- No price(s)
- No feature listing
- No model listing
- No anticipated production run
- No photos regarding the current prototype
- No manufacturer details regarding execution
- No media marketing

I will give credit there were snippets regarding sales tax question answers in CA.
Is this the most important aspect?

PPS did not provide an immediate release statement early (ie back in OCT 16 during Expo) not because the game is not potentially ready to be manufactured, but because the market is not acceptable to make necessary profitability as a design/manufacturer team unless said company can make the game at a lower cost than what was previously made with MMr (ie $8000) which is HIGHLY unlikely in low production volumes. They are also severely competing against a plethora of new titles for actual monetary sales. In that respect, there were smart business decisions to NOT release the game.
It really surprises me people do not understand the reasoning, what is going on, and charge forth into a black hole anyway.

I can keep going, but you already know where I stand in this matter.

Good luck to all buyers, but be careful with your money, as it is about time again people will get burned.
We are due for another pre order boondoggle, and another 2 year waiting period until people *might* get their games.
I only would like people to avoid problems and reduce their stress, not discourage free enterprise.

I want to add something since PPS decided to contact me. I am not going to war over an entertainment device, or sabotage future sales. I will gladly contact for clarity, and I would enjoy a sales flyer if available. If you want to provide me with more information, just let me know if I have to sign some type of NDA.

I have watched way too many manufacturer shenanigans since even before WMS fell or even the BLY Industries merger to just watch on the sidelines another pingazoo again. It was painful.

I call this "hyping the hype".

IF people misinterpreted my comments, I NEVER stated the game would NOT be remade, a manufacturing contract was not established, or that production could not be started in a short time after reveal.

That is the perogative of the company, not private collectors.
The release statement for MMr and associated content was industry standard, but AFMr has nothing presently.

I only caution that a person should understand what constitutes a reveal, a release, and an actual produced game in order to AVOID speculation on behalf of the general community.

Potential buyers look closely at specifications, features, and timelines when/if they become available.

Remakes cater to a specific type of buyer, not normally to collectors, but rather more to players and owners. There is sometimes massive confusion in terms of the differences of an original run, rerun, reproduction, and remake. They are not all identical.

Good luck on your efforts PPS.

I look forward to the MSRP with the formal statement as that provides indications of potential sales volume, title viability, health of the industry, and state of the new machine market among other important information which I track.

Quoted from Mike_J:

Don't give them a dime until they have a game ready to ship or be like me and never give them a dime.

In nearly 30 years, I have never bought a game without playtesting, reviewing, and evaluating the purchase, EVER! This means AFTER game release regarding new games. This is no different than what I do for used titles.

I just keep trying to educate people so their wallet does not run away from their pants and stress is much less in an overboiling market.

As a collector/historian, I am not motivated to buy remakes.
This is not why I am involved in the hobby, and it would be hypocritical anyway.

Reproductions sales are possible, but they have to be spot on or better in construction quality which is expensive and hard to do. If people understand the silk screening process of backglasses, then they will know what I am trying to state. Collectors are OCD perfectionists.
