I've been playing AFM at home since 2001. Looking to buy new games, not old ones.

Quoted from Rum-Z:I know some people are saying they would not pay 8 grandish for a remake, but I can't help but wonder if Rick from PPS had access to the original more active mother ship design, and has possibly recreated the more active mother ship mechanism for the remake. He has alluded to some additional features that may be included. so there may be more newer/extra features than just a higher resolution color display like we saw with MMR.
If a dedicated and experienced pinball design team at WMS couldn't get the telescoping and moving ship working within their allotted timeframe, I don't think the folks at CGC will get it done either. CGC's focus is cabinet manufacturing: most of their products are videogames in some form of custom cabinet. Curcuit boards, wires, screens and wood. Does CGC have a ME that can make the AFM ship? Highly unlikely, but I'm prepared to be surprised.
Quoted from Whysnow:probably the most similar of all games in comparison to MM.
95% of people if asked what game is most simialr to MM, would reply "AFM" That is not a bad thing, but most people I have known with both MM and AFM have gotten rid of one and kept the other as they found them too similar for the space and value.
I'm definitely the exception. Bought an AFM back in 1999 and really liked it, got a chance to get MM shortly thereafter and grabbed it as well. I have now owned both for 16+ years. During that time I acquired and then sold a HUO Monster Bash, preferring to keep the Brian Eddy pair over even that game. AFM and MM might be similar, but each is so good that they continue to pull their weight in my collection.
Quoted from PinMonk:Ugh. RfM is fun, but the video modes got old for me very fast. Same deal on the other Pin2K. I would never have a Pin2K back again. I might have an AfM again some day, but not the remake.
Amen. RFM has a good base, but complete lack of ANY stacking makes for boring, linear games after a while. SWep1 is just a trainwreck.
Quoted from bigd1979:While rfm isnt horrible and is kinda neat, its not in the same ball park as far as gameplay imo. Both have their place in collection's .
RFM *had* a place in my collection, but couldn't pull muster and was summarily ejected. I like the tech but the game just got boring.
