It's a remake of a very popular game. Many people own it and others want to own it (like MM). Since its old, most of the games are blown out and restored games are expensive. Getting a NIB AFM is something very desirable to some people that lack the time and resources to restore a game. For most though, it all comes down to price but there are some that will pay jacked up prices. I guess we'll see! I think it's great to see another classic remade. YMMV

Quoted from Atari_Daze:

Can someone explain the hype over another game remake / reboot for me? Is the pinball world like Hollywood with almost no original ideas any more? What am I missing?

Do the main ship and saucers on the standard have red leds? If not they really need the red leds!

Heads will be safe, rest assured the basic won't be $5500.

Quoted from arcademojo:

Not that I think it will happen but just food for the thought. If they price these to compete with Stern pro on up there will be some heads exploding. It would turn the market upside down. Could you imagine a NIB AFMR basic at $5500. Crazy man, just a crazy thought.

I am surprised they don't offer CHROME on the LE. That would make the most sense to me.

From the pics of the games at the Dallas Show, the Classic model has an LCD display that is single color (shown in GREEN) but software updatable to color (like MMR) for an additional cost.

Quoted from Eskaybee:

Cool. Has it been confirmed what the features matrix is? From that flyer, it Looks like classic is A-typical with plain dmd. SE gets color dmd + lighted speakers. LE gets that + green trim & topper. In guessing the SE & LE may get a few extra play field mods too?
Will be interesting to see where pricing ends up on these as AS PRO looks to be one of the best bang for the bucks NIB pins on the market and potential future market.

Is this a fixed price or varied based on vendor?
