Quoted from IdahoRealtor:Sorry, but Stern dimple talk is just annoying at this point. There is no dimple-gate. It's not a thing. I picked up 3 new Sterns last year and none are dimpling any more or less than any other Stern ever.
The SMVE does have some ghosting inserts (definitely a thing), but nobody notices but me and Stern is going to replace it.
And for all the JJP strokers, wasn't this a Mirco playfield?I haven't seen any Sterns do that.
No, that picture is from a very early WOZ that didn't use a Mirco playfield. JJP switched playfield manufactures for WOZ in 2014 I believe from "Bader" to Mirco. Also, only a small handful of early games had playfield issues, many are perfectly fine. One of the issues was JJP not putting down mylar in high wear areas such as between the pops (where the wear is at in the pic), that was a mistake on their part. JJP did sent out mylar kits eventually but still they should have taken care of the install at the factory.
The early WOZ playfield issues that occurred in some games sucked but that was over 4 years ago, the problem was corrected years ago and it also occured on a few of the very first games JJP ever created. All JJP games made at some point in 2014 and going forward have a Mirco playfield.
Stern on the other hand has been around for 30 years, and is charging more then ever for their products...I expect far better from them for being such a long standing established company. I hope that PPS doesn't have similar playfield issues and that the games are very high quality (playfield on my friends MMR looks really nice).
