Quoted from stpcore:

If anyone at TPF can find out or already knows what style of LEDs they used please share. As crazy as it sounds I think I'd be in on an LE if the LEDs are cool white. If they used warm white I'd prefer an original that I could then customize to my liking.

The gi lights are standard leds that can be changed easily but not the inserts....not sure about the flashers eaither as i really like different color alien ship flashers also.

how does the strobe multiball look?

#1003 7 years ago

The game is really fun and appears well built. The Le topper and leds are really cool. I am picking up a Le with black trim. Not a big fan of the green.

Haven't seen it yet, but the strobes and lightning are amazing throughout.

I wasn't in on this title until I played it. I am in on a black armor LE.

#1005 7 years ago

I am in on this too, going green myself.
The green is a little crazy looking for sure but I like it.
The LE is a blast, if you every wanted a AFM its time to jump in.

Now off to play it a few more times.

Hey why not get the green trim... with the saucers constantly flashing between green and red it looks like Christmas every time you play. Good or bad thing depending on how festive a person you are.

It wouldn't bother me as it would remind me of Xmas with my kids every time I'd fire it up.

Count me as jealous. I will own one of these some day!

#1008 7 years ago

Just switched my SE to a black LE. Can't wait!

#1009 7 years ago

I'm in.. Just ordered the LE...

#1010 7 years ago

I'd like to see a pic of under the Playfield, is it one large pcb with smt leds or is it sockets? Are the insert leds cool white, warm white or colour matched to the insert colour?

Exactly what I asked a few posts back.

Curious what drove your decision to go LE?

#1013 7 years ago

Topper and the huge DMD looks awesome!

#1014 7 years ago

Convinced myself I would never buy one of these remakes. Laughed when I heard they were doing AFM when I saw the announcement email.

Just saw the video of the LE...ordered. damn it.

#1015 7 years ago

I wonder if the LE's in black will sell out this week.
There's only 1000, and there is a global market...

I already ordered, Im just thinking I might get a couple of them?

#1016 7 years ago
Quoted from Vino:

Color changing LED's on saucers are amazing in person, topper is sweet, and trim package just feels high end IMO.

I had a high end restored AFM back in the day, and I don't feel like I'm giving up anything for this LE.

We still have LE slots and can put deposits down on site ... anyone near Northern Nevada can come by and play the one we have here. The Saucer lights with the red/green are something to see with the animations triggered by all the various events.

A couple of other notes:
- all the games will have plywood (upgraded bottom)
- playfield GI lamps have brightness settings (as do the controlled)
- at least the US games come with coin mechs this time

Any scoop protection?

#1019 7 years ago
Quoted from Khabbi:

I think we are gaining a lot if anything.
Cool running SMT LED's, lower power consumption, enhanced sound, computer controls on all coils, dimmable lighting, shaker motor, enhanced COLOR LCD etc etc......

NIB for less than a HEP restored original !

I was looking for a nice AFM and then this hit...

Im never looking back.

The guys at TPF said there will be a scoop protector on the production units.

I also pulled the trigger on black LE.

I read on one of these threads that you can get a scoop protector added and installed at the factory...not sure of cost.

Rick, can you stock some Stern or JJP anti-glare glass for those of us that want to switch out the regular glass?
Maybe add it as an option for a few bucks?

#1028 7 years ago

I went in on the LE too. Didn't think k I'd have any interest and then within the last 48 hours I'm all in, lol.

#1029 7 years ago

I'm at TPF and still have a few LE slots available. Stop the Escalera booth and get your spot

Anyone at TPF ask about how much the color option will be? If $400, seems silly to get the base version with color because it's not much more to get the special with bigger display and other upgrades. If the color option is much cheaper, like $100, then the base model seems like a pretty good deal.

Someone posted above that the color software for the base version will be $400. Don't know if that's been confirmed by PPS or CGC though.

Most are getting the LE, I think its the better way to go with the extended warranty and all.

#1033 7 years ago

Yea a le for 8300 delivered is a very fair deal.... even has me thinking of ordering one even know im a huge collector if original stuff. I have a very nice unfaded modded one and am really thinking of selling it to get a le . Ugh .... decisions lol

#1034 7 years ago

In for an LE in black!

#1035 7 years ago

I sure would like to get one but LE is out of my comfort zone price wise. Compared to other pin prices it isn't a bad price but that's a lot of money. A lot. The base model price is much more tempting but color and some of the upgrades are pretty sweet.

Hard to tell by my Avatar, but I love AFM. The idea of getting one that is new and better than the original in so many ways is amazing. Will be over to play yours (and ASLE too).

I would get the SE model then as it has the big color display included and a better warranty.
Black trim can be added later its not too bad and fairly cheap.

The topper is cute, but it doesnt affect game play.

Rick, is it just LE's that are getting made right now?

What is your expectation for when SE's might ship?

Depending where you are, I would contact a distributor, maybe pick up and save on the shipping.

Oh I plan to. I guess what I'm really asking Rick is when he expects to be shipping SE's to distribs.

I was beginning to piece together a what it would cost to upgrade an old machine with these features. It's a no brain decision. The mini saucers, LED, some kind of topper, a dead mint play field, color DMD... Fixing up an old machine that has a base cost of 9-10K?

To do everything right, peruse HEP's site and see what it takes to make a brand new game.

More like 12 to 14k if you want everything brand spanking new.

#1045 7 years ago

I'd like to hear from someone who has seen the green LE's and has an opinion as to how it actually looks in person.

Thanks.

I like the green. True it doesn't totally match the cab art, but works from the player's perspective.

The LE is just a killer package. If I was in I'd go LE. The software controlled saucer led's are amazing.
