Quoted from markp99:Anyone toyed with the idea to change-up the left scoop chute from it's current matte black to something else?
The "Powder Coating Thread" has me thinking. Chrome, red, metal flake...endless combinations.
I do wonder about durability of any non-paint finish as this is a high impact (albeit internally) area.
Doing the outside of the chute is no problem. I wouldn't do the inside and i do alot alot of coating
Im having issues just unboxed LE #597. My saucer destory scoop doesn't register sometimes when you go to destroy a saucer and itll register as a lock instead. Running V 1.0.0
Quoted from frankmac:Black trim looks great! You do not see it that often..
Thanks its classy, felt it was safe
Quoted from whthrs166:Its the best one IMHO. The powder coat is some what flat so that shot down the green for me.
I did this green for a customers AFM
So i can't seem to find the post but my superskill shot rarely makes the orbit. I turned the auto plunger up and it seems linked with mu SOL kick and makes it to violent. Someone posted i need to shim the plunger and i believe from time to time its contacting the right ramp. Anyone got pictures or advice
Quoted from eagleeyemma:Joining the club with number 596 with black trim. Been reading everything you guys have been putting and I noticed that some of my plastic have those cracks. How do I go about obtaining new ones? Awesome pin. Fyi they had put Mylar in problem area on this one. I ordered cliffys just in case.
Hey i got#597 in black trim. Same statehow crazy
Quoted from iceman44:Btw outlane rubber is a bitch. Anybody else remove it? So sensitive its hard to nudge control. Reminds me of TWD which settled down after a bit.
Still needs some breaking in i suppose!
Set your angle steeper. I set mine a little past the 2nd hash and balls seem to float less and tend to not soft bounce left to right
Quoted from abagwell:Oh that stuff doesn't bother me too much, it's been made pretty clear that this is the sort of thing that can happen. I'm more wondering if AFMR is going to stay in my collection long term to be honest. It's great fun and my nostalgia shades from being a kid heavily drove my interest in owning it but it just seems a bit lacking for a machine I paid 8k for. That's in no way a dig on CGC or anything obviously, as it's a perfect remake. I'm just comparing it to my restored WC94 that was only $2600 next to it and it seems kind of lacking in longevity. My brain keeps wandering off to more involved/longer ball time games I could have in its place (really interested in owning a Hobbit at some point).
You can easily trade it but give it time. Adjust your ball save time if you have too.AFMR by no means is an easy game. Its a pure pinhead game. If you want long ball times and more modes look into some modern sterns. I highly suggest you wait a few months and explore all the modes and watch somd videos of what there is to offer and what to do
Quoted from whthrs166:You guys that went with the Titan Competition Silicone Rings, What have been your experiences? I went from Super Bands (on the flippers). I have noticed: Increased power on the flip (must be due to more grab on the ball), Increase control (definitely better grab on a spinning ball) , Less bounce back (from a different rubber compound that doesn't allow the ball to bounce over the slings to the drains) and better accuracy( I just seem to hit the ramps with more accuracy). The one shot that seems to be less reliable is lock shot.
I noticed the same when i switched to superbands
Quoted from whthrs166:Sure Mark Here ya go.
Good stuff, finally a post about new stuff not conplaints. Awesome work
Quoted from whthrs166:I think it does but look at your build date. That will tell for sure.
Got mine in December LE #597.zero issues
Quoted from Aurich:I came into this thread to see how people were liking their games, I've flirted with eventually moving my Metallica LE for one, but maybe I should just sell it and get out of this hobby before it's nothing but rich douchebags suing each other.
Worst thread on pinside easily. I agree
Given the low number of solid issued besides adjustments I'm completely happy with my game and will buy the next remake but I do believe in holding makers accountable. Something as simple as a flood of bad reviews on facebook or asking in person is actions that can be taken. As for CGC warrenty i had a inlane plastic with minor cracks, mailed me a new one super fast and no issues so, my accounts its been great. If you enjoy your game, continue to enjoy your game and buy more. Take all information with both sides being put into perspective
Quoted from Tmezel:Mezelmods is making a building to cover the VUK. This is just the prototype so it will have more detail. We have other mods coming to so look for my thread soon.
Hot damn
Quoted from Damagio:Guys,
The left and right drains are just brutal for me. I don’t want to make the game easy...I want to get better, I am really good at digging the ball out of the center but the sides are killing me...tournament settings anyone?
Try titan rubbers on the outlanes. They seem to have a better bounce and dont swell up like other rubbers
Quoted from delt31:I just bought this. What a great idea b/c the VUK in this game stands out like a sore thumb!
Little expensive but whatever...

Will post some pics when it comes.
I bought it too so ill let ya guys know too. It looks like itd be a great add on
Quoted from delt31:when does the shaker go off in this game? When the ship is hit and explodes but anything else?
Pretty much just the ship. Its kind of weak compared to sterns
My SOL hole kick out had been mega inconsistent lately. Sometimes ball rockets out hits the middle of the flipper other times straight down the middle. Any suggestions
Quoted from pinballinreno:Could be inconsistencies with your power. I have mine on a variac now.
Also something might be loose like a coil stop or even the whole assembly.
To me it acts like a power issue. It droops or it rockets out. I checked coil stops and linkage etc.
Quoted from pinballinreno:Yes I put my woz and afmr on a variac set to 119v
So you think its inconsistent wall power?
