Quoted from bigdaddy07:Did you open the box to see if the game was OK? You may be surprised as it is packed in there good.
If I open it I think I take possession of it. I was told not to last time they destroyed 3 tron LE's. I called chicago gaming and they said it was right to send it back.
I figure it fell over and hit something and the topper smashed into the front of the pin.
Quoted from Quadrat:Sorry to hear that. Pallet looks like the same as the one my LE was on. I assume this was more from forklift drivers loading and unloading other people's freight.
It looks like a quality pallet, but why not put a bottom on it. Every other pallet has one for support. I think the extra $2 in wood would have made a difference in this case. maybe next time they will think about it.
just to update, I ended up accepting it.
The driver sat in front of my house for about 30 min. while I was calling chicago gaming(chicago said I should refuse it) and then the distributor(I sent him the pics). the shipper was playing it off as a refused shipment and wanted to charge the distributor to send it back.
So distributor called me and said I should go and open it and note damage and then refuse it. So I went to the carrier and they had already opened the top! So I opened the box and it looked ok. maybe a scratch on on the coin door. But nothing really damaged that I noticed. Next time I will hold for pickup at the terminal.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:have to say the number of damaged parcels is of great concern - is it a packaging issue ? i've not seen how CGC package games but have had 3 NIB sterns that looked perfect of the truck.
They damaged 3 tron le's and they had to be sent back. Next pin I get I am going to pick up at the terminal.
Last week NAVL came to pickup a game from my home. One guy was on his cell and the other was trying to use the lift. The game started to tip over. If I was not out there to take pics and catch it, it would have fallen. Then they decided to use a strap to guard against it falling. I don't know why all these shippers use crappy lifts. They need to use rail lifts and I would bet their damage claims would drop.
