Apologies if this has been answered before, as I'm new to this thread: how tall is the LE with topper installed. I'm just checking to see if it fits in the location I want to put it

#8193 4 years ago
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

I just measured mine, and it is exactly 84" to the top of the topper backboard. Additionally, the Martian does bounce up a little, so I would say absolute minimum ceiling height should be 85" just to be safe.

Thank you - much appreciated

#8194 4 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

About 84 inches tall.

Thank you - I appreciate your help

I'm joining the club. Just ordered and paid for a demo only SE of Attack from Mars. Should arrive in about a week

1 week later
#8306 4 years ago

Outside of cliffys, are there any other spots that requires mylar protection.

Mine is arriving next week. Will join the club soon.

#8318 4 years ago
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

I would say no, as the game comes heavily mylared. Then again, you could always go for one of these if you the type that likes to keep the plastic cover on the couch like my grandparents did: https://playfield-protectors.com/Home/Details/lN4-cHuCAk6AeqrzPTFnIA?categoryid=22&category=Playfield%20Protectors&name=Attack%20from%20Mars%20(Remake)%20%7C%202017

..although some people are fans playfield protectors (kaneda etc), I'm not a fan of how it changes the flow & feel of the game. I would however be putting it on if I had a game on location to protect the playfield.

... super excited, my demo use only AFMr SE is arriving later today. Its my 2nd brian eddy game (i have the shadow). The mods I have ready are:

*cliffys
*pinstadium uv
*red under cabinet lighting
*red lighted buttons
*red lighted trough lighting
*mezelmods red/green scoop lighted mod
*sticker for the ufo 3 drop target.
*matching game blades for backboard and sides.

Mods yet to do:
*black gloss powdercoat of legs, side rails, hinge & lockdown.
*eat at eddys

Mods I am still undecided on:
*Big o jiggly Martians red eyes led
* red plasma pop bumpers

As the last two mods are a bit more expensive, has anyone else had any good or bad experiences with them on your AFMr? Are there any other mods I have missed that are worth getting?

#8320 4 years ago

..also - has anyone purchased this lighted apron mod? If so, Is it any good?

The shaker motor of my SE doesn't appear to either work or be on. Any tips?

#8332 4 years ago
Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

You checked all of the wiring to make sure nothing came loose in transport?

It actually ended up CGC shipped an SE without the shaker motor, but I'm happy with how my distributor has handled the issue - with the replacement part etc.

Correct. It might not be for everyone, but I'm very happy with buying it

Does anyone have good advice on removing this post, as I am trying to install a set of cliffys to my AFMr SE.

Pliers aren't doing much and I am concerned that hitting the post with a hammer from under the playfield will only damage it.

Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

Installing both of those cliffys there and at the saucer looks to be a real pain in the ass, probably why I haven’t done it yet.

It is, but worth it for the long run with your AFMr pinball

#8378 4 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

Both posters are correct.
Only thing I would add, if you have one. Use a rubber hammer. For some reason it is easier on the wood. Sends a different vibration through it or something.
I discovered this many years ago setting up foosball tables. The wooden legs fastened to the cabinet with big carriage bolts. You had to pound them in. Use a metal hammer and you split the leg every time. Use a rubber hammer, no problem.

Thank you - appreciated

Quoted from PinMonk:

Gentle hammer taps from underneath. It's the best way - that post is a bitch for some reason.
BTW, do you have one of the "nude" playfields with the wrong colors in areas that should have orange because they forgot to change the screen for that layer once they finished screening the chick on some playfields? I'm not sure if it's the picture, but it looks like you do from the color around those inserts. What does the mid-playfield look like?
There's some discussion of it from a couple years ago here:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/attack-from-mars-remake-afmr-owners-club/page/71#post-4231127

Yes. It appears that I have the nude colouring of that area on playfield

#8381 4 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

If you have it there, it's also in the fire between the buildings, by the shoot again insert, tractor beam & big O beam inserts, and jackpot inserts. Basically wherever there should have been light orange, you have nude on the playfields with this factory error.

It is

Anyone tried any colored titan silicone/rubbers? I was wondering if any good color combinations exist, other than black

With more time on my hands during the COVID-19 shutdown I have been painting my attack from mars aliens using ink & acrylic paint (sprayed with clearcoat). One on the left is the painted and the one on the right is stock.

I tried to get it to match the color of the alternative translite I have on the game

Does anyone know where to hook up the pinstadium lights underneath the cabinet so that you can get the most out of the stobe multibal and have the pin stadium lights go off during that mode?

Great video that was just uploaded about installing cliffys in AFMr

Does anyone know how to fix an issue with the main hole for blowing up the saucer registering as a ball lock sometimes
