I also do not believe that the topper will clear the ceiling in my basement where my LE will be going. But I figure that I can either remove a ceiling tile or fabricate a different alien to mount up there if so motivated. From what I've seen, not only is there an alien up there, there are also a series of rgb leds that surround it. Worst case, I keep everything.

I haven't seen the LE mini saucers in action but I am led to believe that the LEDs that are part of them are keyed to color changes to interact with different goals. The SE mini saucers do not do that. Also, the LE includes mirror blades (sort of wish there was an option to do the electroluminescent blades that some outside company is making but I sure that is cost prohibitive)

And I really like the lime green powder coat. Has that "tackiness" that fits with the whole game.

I have no idea when mine will go into the truck to head my way. But I'm not worried.

Just out of curiosity started reading the manual. I "sort of" knew that this game had a capability for owners to modify the logo on the larger display. There it is on page 1-11, the instructions to do so. So for those that have taken delivery, any of you done any personalization yet? And what I am really curious about, anybody know the font that Bally used to "script" their logo?

Got mine set up and playing yesterday. As usual, it will take me a while to get it set as I like but my initial impressions are that this is a home run. The sound is far superior to any other game I own. The display is extremely well executed and about my only concern is that I now wonder how MMr sales will either suffer and how much it will cost to install this "system" on that game. Not just for the display but also the speakers.

My only disappointment is that I live in an older home with limited height in the basement where the game is at. I tried to install the topper and while it fit when the game sat away from the wall where the rafters lined up correctly, I quickly realized that this would eventually be damaged by players that did not consider the lack of clearance. Too bad the only solutions in my case would be to lower the basement floor (not going to happen), notch the rafters (again, not happening) or somehow find considerably shorter legs which really screw up the playing while likely not matching the Martian green powder coat. So the topper will sit in that beautiful plywood box until I either move or sell the game. BTW, found that one connector to the topper with the pin blocked, instead of cutting the pin, I simply pulled the plug at the connector.

Didn't read the entire thread so excuse me if this question is answered elsewhere.

It is my understanding that the graphic "Bally" under the display can be owner replaced with basically anything the owner desires as long as it fits a certain format. Has anybody done this and what I'm curious about is, does anybody know the name of the font that Bally used when they designed this "emblem"?

Obviously, the connection to the translite is open but that shouldn't make a difference.

You referred to the topper not working, those better versed may be able to explain it better but one of the connectors has a block installed from the factory to "key" the connector. IOW, you either pull the blocker or cut one of the pins to make it fit.

I do not have the topper installed but maybe this picture may be a help.

Quoted from abagwell:

This is the exact same way mine was, and it's what my vendor was confused and cautious about because nothing in the instructions mentions this. He figured the plastic pin had to be removed but the manual doesn't say.

The reason for that "block" in the connector is that the board was intended to have only three pins. As you now know, there are four pins. The logic as it was explained to me was that by blocking that cavity and removing the pin, the connector would not be able to be installed 180 degrees "off".

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere but I'm curious. Has anybody found a way to change the sound schemes on this game? I figure about the only thing this game is missing is a few "acks" lifted from the Mars Attacks movie along with a couple Slim Whitman "howls".

Just curious, have a remake and the shaker motor is starting to make a slight noise on power off spindown. IOW, it sounds like a small bit of bearing failure. Or is it something else? Has anybody else had this issue and how have you resolved it?
