Quoted from Dwboca:

All fixed with mine. Shut off and restarted problem went away.
Weird that it did that

Mine has done it 3 times now in the last 3 weeks.
I have also had the game simply die twice during multi-ball.
Power remained on but game just died.

Hmmmm.....
Somethings going bad with time and heat.
Mine plays well and crisp when I turned it on today, but it was shut off after. I normally would have a coffee and eat something then play again.

The red looks good.

Wow. That’s a stunning AFM. Your TZ would like a color DMD for his bday.

#10006 1 year ago

Where did you come across the red accessories?

The LE came in black, red or green.
Green was the best seller.

I ordered mine in black

I could be wrong, but believe the LE only came in black or green. Mine is not an LE, it’s a SE that’s been powdercoated.

According to CGC website came in green, black, or stainless so that red is custom.

The topper was only game with a LE, but a SE owner may have found a topper for sale

Red looks really good on there

Um, my bad lol. Thanks!

Back in the day i was voting for martian red, now that i remember better.

And they opted for green instead.
That red does look sharp!

He's right to call it an SE+

Yeah I was looking at the red thinking, why didn't I choose red over green? I couldn't remember the color choces it either

#10013 1 year ago

Congratulations on finding a topper to put on your SE. Don't know how you found it, but amazing!

Do you have an extra LE topper I could, like, have?

Topper and proprietary PC board to drive it...

Is that how the topper works, it comes with a board that integrates into the game?

#10017 1 year ago
Quoted from Heavyk:

Yes, and they dont sell it separately.

#10018 1 year ago

I'm having an issue with my topper and was wondering if anyone has any ideas. The martian is getting stuck so the it doesn't jump like it should. When I run the topper in test mode, if I lightly push up on the martian's arm it'll start jumping and run until I stop the test, and depending on where it stops in the cycle it'll start up again and work but then if it comes to rest at the bottom of the stroke (in the 6 o'clock position, where it most naturally rests) it gets hung up and will stop working. There were a few sticky spots on the gears for the motor so I rebuilt it and it spins great now, so I'm confident that isn't the issue. Has anyone else had this problem or maybe an idea about how to proceed? Obviously it's not that important of a detail, it's just annoying.

#10019 1 year ago
Quoted from Anders2642:

Has anyone else had this problem

I had a motor with a bad winding. If it stopped on that spot it wouldn't go.

Be sure the parts inside that make it go up and down are assembled right.

I've seen 1 maybe 2 people on this thread that have purchased the topper from a LE owner. Would think it's a rare occurrence

So... I have an AFMR LE for sale on the floor at pinfest and got a solid offer on just the topper I am considering. What do you think an LE without the topper is worth with around 1000 plays that is mint?

#10027 1 year ago

I wouldn't buy a le without the topper unless the price was real low. It's probably one of the best toppers ever.

#10028 1 year ago

Can't see you making a profit doing that.

I have turned down offers of $3000 for my topper that is still new in the box.

Removing the topper makes the game no longer an LE.

The topper goes with the game, buy the whole game from me if you want the topper.

I wouldn’t separate the topper if you’re trying to sell it later. Probably the biggest selling point of the LE’s at this point.

I'd not only not sell the topper, i'd keep the machine. there's not many around better than AFM.

I’d have to be really hurting for money to sell mine! Hard to beat this title

Just sold a medieval madness because it wasn't a patch on AFM.

#10036 1 year ago

Shopping out my AFM and I have a broken plastic I can’t seem to track down. It’s the plastic that goes just to the left side of/ and under the main saucer.
Figured I’d see if anyone here had one before having to go buy a whole new set.

I did the same thing with mine, the guy I bought my MMR from bought an AFMr to replace it. He said that day I will end up doing the same thing. 6 Months later he was right sold my MMr and bought the AFMr. I really wanted to like MMr but something about that remake

Yup, we both cycled through MMR and we both still have AFMr. It's such a great game and will probably never leave my house.

Man I love this game. Got super jackpot before even taking down one country and 5 shot combo was my last blue light. This game can get me nervous at so many points!

First time since like September!

Hi all - ran into an issue during play tonight - the drop target is not resetting itself and it's just staying down. I removed it completely and didn't see any obvious issues in the mechanism. I can reset it manually and it just stays down when hit again. The test says that it's working fine, but it isn't.

Any suggestions for where else to look?

Thanks in advance.

#10042 1 year ago
Quoted from jjmf:

Any suggestions for where else to look?

Is it assembled right. The lifter not in the wrong spot ? And you can listen when the target goes down, does the tab on the drop target close the switch and you can hear it click ?

I'll attach a picture ( of a WOZ one ) so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. Red arrow points to the thing that lifts the drop target, if it is out of position or wrong side of the arm of your switch, you get the condition you have going on.

The lifter is in the right spot - I can see the switch being closed when it does drop.
Here are some pics. Anything off you can see?

Thanks for your help.

I emailed cliffy but never heard back. Any recommendations on how to protect shooter lane? Just put Mylar on it?

I bought the eject, drain and 3 target bank protectors from Cliffy for my original AFM and MM. Keep trying, I’m sure he’ll get back to you. Also, Mylar works just fine in a home game environment.
