Just received my eat at eddys mod. For those that have the mod, are the windows fully covered by the white plastic? Seems like the windows should be covered no? Also how did you attach the eat at eddy sign on the roof? tape? I figure asking here might be faster since it usually takes 2-3 days to get a response. Thanks

My windows were completely covered. There were 2 tiny squares of double sided foam tape included with mine.

Mine are covered also, but I had to look pretty hard. Don’t think it will make a difference.
You could cut a tiny bit of a plastic milk bottle and attach on the other side if your milk bottles are anything like ours here.

#9905 2 years ago

Same here; windows covered. I also used the double sided foam tape to attach the sign (cut it).

Thank you they are sending a replacement.

Quoted from punkin:

Dunno about that. I've achieved all the objectives to get there now, but i can't see myself doing them all in one game.

Set replay levels, set awards as extra ball.

Your game, your rules, Rule that Universe Bitch!!!!

I have only done it once, but have had the chance several times and just could not get enough points

Pay attention to the Super Jackpot shot during RTU. Also, the SJ value increases, depending on how many times you've scored it _before_ RTU.

Nice mod, where did you get it? Seems like all the ones I find are out of stock.

Mr_Tantrum also makes a nice version of the Eat at Eddy's mod. Send him a PM!

Just curious, have a remake and the shaker motor is starting to make a slight noise on power off spindown. IOW, it sounds like a small bit of bearing failure. Or is it something else? Has anybody else had this issue and how have you resolved it?

Just got around to installing some of my cliffy protectors. I have a question about the ball drain. It is a compression fit, but the trough comes right up to the edge. Am I supposed to drop the trough and put on the cliffy with compression and then put the trough back basically flattening out the metal of the cliffy protector on the bottom side where the compression is being done?

Yes, that’s how it’s installed. Loosen screws holding trough in, slide cliffy into place, tighten it up.

Does anyone have a source for florescent green plastic protector sets for AFM/AFMr? Pinbits was the source, but I've read several threads where people say they have gone dark for some time now.

I own a set and looking for a friend. I can easily have a set made, but I was wanting to avoid removing mine and creating the vector files to copy them if I could.

#9918 2 years ago

I installed a Cliffy drain protector on my AFMr a few weeks ago. One thing that I noticed was that if I centered the protector over the drain, balls would get caught between the end of the protector and the end of the ball drain on the left side. I ended up having to reposition the protector as close to the left side of the drain as possible. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem.

I had the same issue. I had to reposition it also.
Now I'm having an issue with the SOL rear protector - the ball is catching the lip and getting stuck sometimes going through the jets. Such a tight fit there with the mezel mod in place too.

Decided to swap my red drop target with a clear one with decal and added a green led underneath it. Turned out pretty nice!

Looks great! I shared how to do this in an earlier post for those who are interested: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/attack-from-mars-remake-afmr-owners-club/page/189#post-6315268

Thanks! I had done this on my TNA and Fish Tales also, now that translucent drop targets are available. I add LEDs from Comet to light them up. I use the star post LEDs because they are bright, with 4 LEDs in each cluster, and very thin so easy to tape it beneath the drop target. No doubt people have other good methods.

Has anyone had a problem with the SOL not recognizing the ball?

My SOL worked great for the first 6 months, then got very delayed until the point where if the ball went into it it would have to do a ball search.

CGC replaced the whole SOL (with new optos) and it worked great for another 6 months or so. Now I’m having the same problem again.

Optos are clean, and not picking it up in switch edge test either.

I adjusted the main power supply voltage, re-installed latest code.

I have a ongoing ticket open with CGC, but thought I would check here with other owners to see if anyone had any ideas!

Thanks!
Richard

#9924 2 years ago

I've had recurring switch issues where it just counts it a s a ball lock and never as a destroy shot, but no.

#9925 2 years ago

Here's an idea after you've replaced your martians with Big Jigglys. Take the picture hanger hooks, straighten and form into an L shape. The hooks will fit in the back as the originals. Double sided tape to attach. It's shitty but better than nothing

Or you can purchase my 3D printed stands (vertical or slanted) in the color(s) of your choice and I will include adhesive on the bottom if requested for this type of use (mine just sit around the office in various places): https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/attack-from-mars-remake-afmr-owners-club/page/163#post-5431478

Installed the eat at eddy’s mod from mezel mods. Finally got around to installing the air ball protector as well. Big difference with the ball not launching off the drop target.

Cool Eddy’s mod and the airball protector is so awesome. He did such a great job on that design.

#9937 2 years ago

I think the Eddy's mod and Big Jigglys are the best 2 mods you can do.

$20 I believe plus $5 shipping. I bought the green one, which is thick and very well made. The shape and fit is great. I really like the chrome ships from Zitt too.

If someone would love to have AFM power blades but the cost is too much, PM me. I have a used set I’m not using. I chose to go with mirrors on mine instead.

Quoted from Richard-NBA-SF2:

Ohh. I never heard of this air ball protector. Cool!

I’ve had it for awhile but finally got around to this machine for its routine cleaning and waxing. I was on the wait list for the building so when that showed up I just did it all at once. I’m not a huge “mod” guy but the eat at eddys really looks like it belongs there. I feel the same way about the monster fish for FT. I came across this protector and thought it was such a great idea. I never liked how the ball launches off the drop. I’m always worried it’s going to crack an insert. Same with MM when the trolls launch the balls into the glass. I always feel like the glass is just going to explode one day.

#9944 2 years ago
Quoted from GreenMachine19:

That’s why I replaced my glass with stainless steel. It’s nearly indestructible, but it’s much harder to see anything.

Hey there.. not sure if any of you AFMr Owners have done this.. but i was having issues with both my orbits not registering rollovers due to "janky" wire rollover forms so i just swapped them out for Magnetic switches from M&M creations, Pinsider name Sonic.

These things are awesome.. every orbit registers now and i have to get used to the increased orbit speed now. fast game is that muych faster now!!
Not a missed orbit yet.

that is my PSA for today!!

Matt makes a great product. have one in my Alice Cooper and one in Sunset Riders on the horseshoe.

It’s great for The Shadow left ramp and Diner coffee cup too. Lots of great locations to speed up the game and replace a micro switch.

A update on this: I had a friend “reflow” the solder on my old Opto set for the SOL, hooked that old one up, and it worked in switch edge right away. Set the game up played for a few mins and the sol optos we’re working. Then after just one game, it went dead again. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Richard
