Scoop stopped working recently. I finally get around to looking at it. Pick up the playfield, fiddle with the coil and plugs to make sure it didn't work loose. Turn it on.... and the scoop pops out the ball.
OK, cool. It's fixed. A few games later, it fails again. I'm about to replace the transistor when it occurs to me to pull the mech and really look at it.
The wire from one of the lugs to the coil was broken. I had inadvertently nudged it enough to touch for a bit. A few minutes of soldering and it's all good.
