hi guys,
I am chasing a horribly loud buzzing sound coming from a game during attract mode. I thought it might be my CCr but it is next to my original AFM and after reading I learned about the sound ROM update from 1.0 to 1.1 to correct a loud buzzing sound (like SUPER loud)!
2 questions, have any of you experienced this? Can someone tell me how to replace a ROM? I ordered 1.1 sound from ActionPinball but not sure where the ROM is on the A/V board (I found the game rom in G11 but where is sound ROM slot)? Many thanks!

Based on the below ROM revision notes, it's a change to Sound Rom S2 (I've highlighted it's location in the diagram)
Sound Rom S2 Revision 1.1:
This revision eliminates a 'buzzing' sound that is occaisionally emitted from some games.
AMS2V1_1.ROM Version 1.1 Checksum = $1300

Thank you sir! OK I found it on the board so should be all set. Its funny I found threads about this issue from 10 years ago that some folks on here including LTG had responded to and were helping folks out then too! Thanks all!

Welcome! Original or remake?

And incidentally that condition is referred to as "Buzz Kill" I went through this same situation with my game when I got it. Fortunately for me I was already acquainted with the "Buzz Kill" from my totan years earlier...

I like that see through pingulp.
Ironically, I just ordered a pingulp 3.0 because I think the black matches the cabinet art almost perfectly.

Joined the club this past summer with an original and very much appreciate all the posts.
I replaced the dry-rotted factory speakers with Flipper Fidelity speakers and am really loving the bass and the sound on the game. I've casually looked at adding a PinSound board, but for folks that have them on their original AFMs, is there a significant improvement in sound that justifies the cost?
On most games i'm usually satisfied adding a polk audio sub, nothing in the cabinet could ever compare to that bass.

Yep same here. It's the only way to go in my opinion.
I added a separate volume control in my cabinet that bypasses the subwoofer. So I turn the in-game volume up higher, then lower the volume with the separate control, resulting in more bass.

If you use a Polk Sub, it has its own gain so You can adjust it separately. The whole unit is plug and play.

And it has built in crossover, so all you get is the bass.
Set the machine to the volume you like, then set the power the sub gets.
I also like the pinnovators sub kit (just an adapter), then use one sub for two pins.
Makes the setup idiot proof.

If you're considering a Pinsound as a sound board replacement and want to stick with the stock sound set, read this first:

Can someone tell me where the gray yellow wire from the standup motor is supposed to go? It was taped off on the AFM I just picked up for some reason…the manual says to the power driver board but it certainly doesn’t run straight there. My guess is it daisy chains to the strobe / saucer shaker molex. Can someone confirm or deny?

I won't be able to do it until tomorrow morning, but if nobody can help you before then, I will check it out.
