You shouldn't have to drill anything. I believe that the hole in your ramp guard mounts on top of this post under the screw.

Quoted from Jakers:

Thanks Nicknack. My float ramp guard doesn't look like yours. This is what I have. Ideally, you shouldn't have to drill a hole into the float ramp to install this right?

Yes, that's the one. Thanks. Do you have a picture of what the parts look like resting on the playfield?

Is this what you mean? Or did you need a picture of what's under the upper playfield?

Any tips on safely and easily getting the wheel decal off and replacing it with a new one?

Remove the wheel assembly from the machine, it's much easier to work on out on its own. Goo gone did a nice job of softening the glue so it would peel. I had to peel a little, add goo gone, wait and repeat. Clean the surface with alcohol and make sure you line up the index mark when installing the new decal.

Also what are the correct measures of the roll pin and spring at the end of the plunge ?

It looks like pinball center has the top part of the plunger.

I saw this listing on ebay for a backglass. Not cheap but I haven't seen another one for sale in a while.

I recently picked up the decal for the backboard. Do you have to strip most of the hardware to get to the backboard and install it or is there a way to remove the backboard from the playfield?

Hey guys, I recently joined the club and I have a couple of issues:
1. Are there any tips to help with the glare on the upper playfield? It seems like it is a thing that everyone just deals with, but I'm curious if anyone has had luck with any lighting strategies that reduce the translight glare on that clear plastic?
2. I didn't even realize there was supposed to be a pin for a flag above the hole in one shot. Is it just a certain gauge wire and a flag sticker?
Thanks

You can put a polarization filter on the dmd to block some glare.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/best-25-you-can-spend-large-polarizing-film-for-backboxdmd

You are correct the pin is just a bent wire held in place by a rivet. It looks close to a .047 music wire, maybe a bit smaller. You can make your own flag or you could buy a set of flashinstincts decals.

I already have a new wire from Marco. What's the best way to get the old roll pin out?

Well I found my problem. The opto's are good. After cleaning error once again went away but came back. I found the Lift ramp catch bracket is gone along with the spring. Makes sense considering lock lights up but the ramp never stays up :/ Unfortunately No one has this part in stock ugh. I found pinballspareparts has it but its going to cost more to just ship is from australia ugh.

Is this the part you need?

How do people have their slam ramp aligned? Is the side parallel to the skill shot targets, the back parallel to the edge of the upper playfield or sighted to be roughly in line with the middle ramp? When I installed my new ramp I set it so the back edge was parallel to the upper playfield but I feel like the ball hits the front edge of the upper playfield too often. I skimmed the manual but didn't see anything about a recommended alignment.

Quoted from nicknack66:

Not sure if this will help, but here are several photos from my game.

Thanks, I think my ramp was a bit turned. I'm sure it's just dumb luck but first game after adjusting the ramp I got my high score. In 2 and a half years of owning it I've never done better than 32 million.

Just joined the club. Had a Gofers shipped to me from Virgina. The flashers are all out. I found a blown fuse at f107. They worked for a bit in test mode. When I got to the flashers under trap ready, the flipper coil fired at the same time they flashed. I lifted the playfield, inspected wires, then tested again. The flashers worked again and didn't set off the left flipper. Then they stopped working again and now I am missing the 20v led light on the board.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm used to having schematics, but can't seem to find them for Gofers.
thanks,
Aaron

Buthamburg was working on making them for when they release their playfields. Hopefully they are close to having them, I know covid has slowed everything down.

Quoted from Insanity_Falls:

Hi golfers,
I'm interested in trying to minimize the "clankiness" of my machine. A couple of questions:
1. How much play should the slam ramp have? I'd imagine it shouldn't be overtightened to prevent damage, but mine jangles on the way up and down and makes multiple noises as each corner touches the playfield at a slightly different time. Is this normal or do I need to tighten/replace anything?

My ramp was tilting when I first got it. Most of my issues was a worn bushing that goes around the shaft just below the playfield. That and tightening the mounting screws fixed mine.

Mirrored backglass

Quoted from metallik:

According to my game, you're both wrong: NGG has a non-mirrored backglass.
I did see a mirrored version for sale once at Expo (on a wall, not in a game), but all the gofers I saw otherwise had a backglass with no mirroring in the artwork.
AFM was a 'light tub' game and had a translite.

Yup, I stand corrected, screened backglass. Apparently the prototypes were mirrored, https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/mirrored-backglasses-in-pinball-list-them-here/page/2#post-688951.

[quoted image]

A 3/8 wrench or socket for the lock nut on one side and mine was a 4mm allen wrench for the screw.

I also need some good pictures of the metal diverter ramp on the top of the mini playfield. Any dimensions for that metal piece would be great as I’m going to have to have it fabricated at this point. Same with switches for golf cart as I can’t find them anywhere...

I'll get this scanned tonight or tomorrow so you can use it as a pattern.

Here's a few more. It does look like two modified standups. There's also a screw with washers to stop the car from hitting the plastic playfield. Mine was routed in Germany for a while so I can't guarantee everything is original but it all works correctly.

I went to replace my gofers today and found that one of the plungers is broken. Does anyone have a spare plunger they'd like to sell. Part number is A-21814. The only place I see them available is pinball.center but they don't ship direct to the us and ZITT's last bulk order just happened so that could be a bit of a wait.

Quoted from SimplePin:

Hello folks. Looking for some tips with some wheel errors that I am currently experiencing. A few weeks ago my machine started randomly throwing a "wheel motor is broken" error and a "wires to wheel motor are backwards" error. At first I ignored this as the wheel was still functioning normally. After being annoyed by this for a few days I decided to take the opportunity to replace my wheel decal and clean up the mech. I pulled the mech, cleaned it, cleaned the optos and the connector pins and replaced the decal. Once I reinstalled the wheel the errors were still present and now the outer opto doesn't always work. This means that the awards are off. Also whenever the wheel award is players choice the wheel just spins and the flipper buttons do nothing. Occasionally when testing the single switch outer wheel opto the switch will close but it's seems random and based on height of the wheel and the wheel mech angle. I have been adjusting wheel height and angle. I can't the outer wheel opto switch to close regularly. I suspect this is the root cause of the above errors. Am I missing something?
Thanks

It sounds like a bad solder joint on the wheel opto board is making the connection flaky. I would check it for cracked solder joints or just reflow the board to see if that fixes it. I've seen it mentioned a few times that replacing that board fixes the errors.

I'm finally ready to put my gofers back together tomorrow. I had to order some 7/16 aluminum rod and an 1/8 slitting saw but my dad had the other machinery I needed to make my gofer plunger. I also modeled the plunger and ordered it printed in nylon just to see if that's a viable option. I know the aluminum one will work so I'm going to put the nylon one in to test how it holds up.

The printed one can be bought here if someone needs one, https://www.shapeways.com/product/SFPXEMSWF. Or I posted the file to print it here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5275062. I'm not going to be making any more aluminum ones, that one represents a few hours of work. A drill press "works" for milling but it's not the correct machine for volume work.

Just joined the club yesterday and I have a potentially stupid question! In regular multiball, is the right ramp supposed to stay raised throughout multiball? At first I thought this was a switch issue, but it also makes it easier to feed the ball to the upper right flipper for a jackpot shot, so it occurred to me that it might be a feature.
[quoted image]

I believe the right ramp stays up so you can feed the kick out for the jackpot shot. After you make the jackpot it comes down so you can shoot that ramp to relight jackpot.
