Thinking of joining the club with a trade for Terminator 2. Thoughts from members on a comparison between the 2 games?
Anything I need to be on the lookout for with this game?
Are the pop bumper lights only turn on under certain circumstances?
My red one is always on but the other 2 don’t seem to turn on making that part of the Playfield dark. However they work fine at the end of game and during tests
Quoted from chalkup8:Have you heard the quote saying 'quick, get under something metal" where all three pops are lit for points?
No I haven’t! Well now I want to lol
Quoted from Micky:That looks so good. What paints did you use and did you put a clear coat on to protect them?
I used an acrylic based paint called Vallejo and put 2 coats of clear coat on top
Quoted from nicknack66:Perhaps a long shot since you said it only occurs after 3+ hours, but have you tried plunging the game in a different outlet which is on a different circuit from the current one? My game used to reset and I believe that these games are very sensitive to I think voltage (which when it drops causes them to reset) so when I moved to a different outlet on a different circuit with less other stuff running on it my game stopped resetting. I am not an electrician so my terms may be off, but for clarity, when I say a different outlet on a different circuit, I mean an outlet that is associated with a different fuse in the fuse box (not simply an outlet with less stuff plugged in since if it's on the same circuit/fuse it won't really change anything).
Tried that and now the game resets upon startup each time
Quoted from Elevatorman:New to the club after last night.
Great game and excited to have it.
Only problem is insert wear.
Is there any place to buy any insert decals?
Clear or colored, any?
Thanks.
Id also like insert decals as the drive one in from of my left ramp is missing
I've decided to rejoin the club and do a nice restore to my machine. Question about the clear mini playfield, has anyone installed the one at Planetary pinball with no problems? I remember hearing it sat too low and balls wouldn't roll under it?
Further to my post a few weeks back about the mini playfield that are for sale. I am concerned the new ones don’t have the slight bend in them as circled below
Without that bend and with a clearcoat I have doubts the ball will clear under the front end of the plastic
I don’t want to spend over $200 USD unless I’m sure it’s fine.
Does anyone have a new mini playfield installed with photos?
Quoted from PTHermes:allsportdvd I ordered and received a no-bend Mini-playfield from Planetary. Balls hit it like crazy and I had to put the bend in. The other solution is to use a slightly taller mounting post until balls clear.
That was my thought and even more so with a clearcoat
What method did you use to put the bend in?
Quoted from PTHermes:I have a homemade line heater made from some Ni chrome wire. Sort of like this , but I use an 18V drill battery. I clamped some scrape wood on either side of the bend line, heated for ~4 minutes, bent it and held it at the angle until cool.
Thank you - that's too much work for me as I don't have the tools or skills to do that to bend one mini playfield lol. I might try the spacers to lift it if I decide to even buy one as I'm reluctant to spend $200 USD inc shipping for a playfield that won't do the job it's supposed to
Anyone know where I can get a replacement backglass? I just tripped over mine and smashed it into 1000 pieces
Quoted from tilt-master:*Jackpots earned are not reflected accurately on your score, including Quick Jackpot
*bomb sound can get stuck on after gofer attack
*it's possible to skip the wizard mode if you start multiball on hole 9
*scoring is very unbalanced, multiball, pop a gofer and cart attack are the only modes worth anything
*A nice additional fix would be a left ramp lift check. When the left ramp should be up for a ball lock, when entering some modes it drops and never lifts again until Bud pops up
*a final 18 hole wizard mode would be nice bonus
I may be missing a few other things
Maybe Soren can do some code for us?
I've rebuilt my gofer mechs and now they don't retract level with the playfield when down, they sit up too high - what am I missing?
Quoted from ezatnova:Did you mess with the screw stop at the bottom where it hits when they are retracted? You fine tune the level of them with that stop screw.
I didn't touch that screw but I'll adjust it now I guess
Another question
I bought a new slam ramp for my game but there is no guard piece for the left side. Is it really needed?
What about reversing the wires on the motor? I’ve seen pictures in this thread of both the red wires on the left and black on the left when looking from top down, which is actually correct?
Quoted from jrcmlc:I've not seen that apron sticker before. Not 100% my style but cool, very cool. Be wesome to hash out the motor thing.
It’s actually printed directly onto perspex so not a sticker and no permanent modification, just holds on with double sided tape
I have had these made for 6 machines now
I would at least take the mylar off and add a new piece of mylar there. It might not look too bad under the mylar
Just stick with the Titan rubber kit database, much more accurate and from people who have done the rubber swap in their machines
Quoted from SimplePin:Thanks for pointing that out. I'll pay attention to my next game of Road Show. I love that I'm still learning things about games that I have had for two years or more.
Roadshow isn't one of those games - it's just GI
I’m having an issue where the right ramp won’t stay up to lock the 2nd ball after hitting Buzz
When I go through the gofer tests the right ramp stays up and lowers just fine
Anyone have an idea here?
I recently finished restoring a gofers
Things to look for:
1 - Slam Ramp hasnt been welded particularly where the post joins the top of the ramp mech
2 - gofer assemblies are complete, particularly the unusually shaped wires that attach to the plunger
3 - Gofers themselves aren't broken at the screw in points on the sides
4 - tabs on the lift ramps mechs aren't broken under the playfield (see posts above)
5 - Left ramp is perfect as it's unobtainable
Quoted from foxtj24:Does anyone have the 2.0 kit from cardona pinball? Do you like it? Is it worth it?
Please give me some opinions please
Haven't seen it in person but to me it looks woefully bad, I wouldn't ruin my game with it
