Joining the club today! Super pumped. My first Solid State game and couldnt be happier. As a big time golfer this is by far the best pin to purchase! I got it at a pretty fair price considering the market is a little high now a days in my area. I am planning to clean it up/wax it this weekend. Ordered a new spin sticker already. Playfield has some damage under the slam ramp but what ever I buy pins to play not to shine. Ill get some updated pics after I shop it.

Schamattack awesome grab, I saw that on CL and almost thought of buying a second. If you need to do any comparison or need any pics let me know I'm right down the road in Oak Creek.

Good to know someone local has one! I will probably have a lot of questions as the clean up process begins haha

#1024 5 years ago

Hey guys quick question. My game didnt come with a manual so bare with me. When I power it up everything seems fine, game starts and flippers/spin motor work fine. When I open the door it says coin door open/check J45 and J46 pop bumpers, spin motor bad, wires reversed on spin motor. Any insight on this? Everything seems to be fine when I play/door closed.

#1027 5 years ago

Got the playfield and ramps all cleaned up. Resolved the spin motor, wires were in fact backwards?? Lol. Still getting the 45 rgt popper and 46 right popper error. Everything else is playing great though. Took all the light assemblies out on the bottom side and cleaned them. Super super dirty.

Question for you guys and gals, Buds teeth are pretty worn from ball impact, can I paint his teeth with a white paint pen and then put some polyurethane on over or will the balls just knock the paint right off?

#1030 5 years ago

When I was cleaning the lights yesterday I checked for any loose wires in the area and could not see anything obvious. From the top side I can not get my finger/q tip to the area of the opto's because they appear to be under the top playfield and down behind the second gofer? I can not confirm this but by the picture its somewhere back in that area. If I go below the play-field can I access the switches?

#1032 5 years ago

Ok guys... Got a weird one. When i hit the left cart ramp/spinner the game kicks another ball out... Does it every time i hit it... Feel like I'm playing multi ball constantly. when i got the game the switch was unplugged for the spinner. With it plugged in it does this. Super confused. No errors unless its un plugged. Anyone experience this?

#1035 5 years ago

In switch test, when I flip switch manually it say trought eject 31 then left spinner 61 every time.

#1036 5 years ago

So I am doing a comparison to the right spinner and can see the wires are not oriented the same way.... going to swap them on the switch and see how it responds.

#1037 5 years ago

Sure as s***!!!! Reversed the wires to match the right spinner and now when I test it just left spinner 61 activates!!! No more Trought eject. This is normal now correct?

#1039 5 years ago

Fixed the issue. No more multi ball every time i hit the golf cart path . Back to just the 45 and 46 right popper issue. Should get a chance tomorrow to look more into it. Will post results with what i find.

I dunno...should I keep the new one or go back to the old one?
Thanks, PPS!

Looks great, just got my replacement in the mail yesterday.

#1042 5 years ago
Quoted from MrSanRamon:

Yes, you need to take out the balls and raise the playfield, resting it on the backbox to access the right popper optos, wiring and connector.
Robert

So finally got around to doing this today. I found the switches and they work. Errors are gone after activating them. So this now has me curious. Is it that uncommon to activate the right gofer ball stealing? I have gotten the left gofer to do it often but never the right one. I am assuming the switches were giving errors because the game played 30 rounds without activating the switches. At least thats what I am understanding from the manual.

#1044 5 years ago
Quoted from MrSanRamon:

I think exactly what it takes to steal a ball depends on your settings.
So with the glass off, start a game and with the ball and your hand do what you need to do to get the left gofer to steal the ball.
Then do the same to the right gofer and see if that works.
Robert

Well I can tell you after firing it up today the 45 RGT Right Popper error is present again. No 46 though. Hrmm. So the switch works but triggers a failure after a power cycle. Maby opto is in fact bad?

#1046 5 years ago
Quoted from MrSanRamon:

Clean all 4 of the opto halves with a q tip and rubbing alcohol. They may just be dirty.
Robert

Thanks for the help Robert!

#1047 5 years ago

Well I found my problem. The opto's are good. After cleaning error once again went away but came back. I found the Lift ramp catch bracket is gone along with the spring. Makes sense considering lock lights up but the ramp never stays up :/ Unfortunately No one has this part in stock ugh. I found pinballspareparts has it but its going to cost more to just ship is from australia ugh.

#1051 5 years ago

that's the part I need! The buy it button doesn't seem to be working. Will have to send him an email. Hopefully he still has some. I will try to find a few things to order from Marco. 1.25 for the part 10 to ship haha.

#1053 5 years ago

Thanks for the info they are also out of stock

#1055 5 years ago

I just purchased a set through Bill (passionforpinball). From what I can tell my left gofer lock is also having issues, might as well replace both. He said he just ran a set last week so he has more available if anyone is interested. I found the spring on ebay for $1!! Just $3 more to ship

#1056 5 years ago

Any benefit to software 1.3 vs 1.2? I noticed my game is 1.2 not the latest 1.3. Was debating buying a chip for it, worth the 15 bucks?

#1059 5 years ago

I hate to keep asking questions, but you guys seem to know your stuff with the NGG so I got another one for ya. I added these felt furniture pads under my slam ramp (I trimmed them so they arnt as thick). It has made my slam ramp much quieter when dropping which gives me the impression the slam ramp was making hard contact with the play-field still. it seems to be much more smooth now and the bad locations under the screws do not seem to be making contact as I can slide a note card under them no problem now. My question is will these sand/wear on the play-field themselves? I have a piece of mylar under the slamp ramp but 2 trimmed pieces are partially on the play-field. The ramp still is low enough for the ball to launch up to the second level for the hole in one also.

Well good news, After installing the cliffy brackets both ramps work great, error codes cleared up after 2 games. I also replaced the bushing for the slam ramp and seems to be much sturdier now. All I need now is my decal kit!!

#1061 5 years ago

Out of curiosity what settings does everyone play at? I have everything set to factory settings but the A-Sound and A-Music. Didnt really notice a different tho in what that changes for sound and music? Anyone have some input?

Anyone have success repainting there goofers? I bought plastic touch up paint at the local hardware store, applied and let it dry overnight. Then put 4 coats of waterbased polyurethane over it. They held up well for about 100 games now buds starting to already show wear again around his cheeks... ugh

#1089 5 years ago

I cant even break 50 million... I have hit 18 holes once and my score was only 35 million... 2 multi-balls and 5 hole in ones. What gives lol. All my settings are default. I am also playing 6 balls though vs factory 3.

Any one have issues getting the ball to shoot up the side ramp? I think my spring is weak on the plunger. I adjusted it to make sure it was straight. The auto launcher gets up no problem and if I smash the knob is launches up no problem, only if I pull the plunger back and release it struggles to get up the ramp. Any input would be appreciated.

#1098 5 years ago
Quoted from gliebig:

Your auto launch goes all the way up the side ramp? Mine doesn't. Is it supposed to?

Id say 50/50 it makes it up the ramp, sometimes in multiball it gives me a free jackpot, I guess now that I think of it I bet it shouldnt.

which cointaker kit did you get for NGG? did you have to add/substitute any of the led's? are you happy with it? mine is still incandescent and I need to update it. thanks for the info.
-troy

I did cometpinball - TWIN 2835 in sunlight/frosted for all bulbs above/under play field except flashers. I ordered 60 of the #555 and 60 of the 44's, I then ordered the 10 smd 12v 5630 to color match the 12v flashers everywhere. I left the backglass standard bulbs, I hate the led bleed look up top. I personally love this look. the twins in sunlight looks perfect and doesnt blink you.

Quoted from allsportdvd:

Okay wow, seeing a lot of items for the with "out of stock" on them

I repainted mine, it was fairly easy. I grabbed model paint from ace hardware (Cheap small bottles) and just matched some paint up as close as I could. Just take the top play field off and pop the gofers up from the bottom side. After I painted them I applied some water based polyurethene to protect. I have about 300 games on them since then and they are holding up good. Buds check is starting to flake but a easy touch up.

Quoted from chalkup8:

How “buggy” or incomplete is the code on NGG ? thelaw in another thread called it a “mess” whatever that means.
I’ve had mine for years and have hardly noticed and real flaws. The hole in one shot didn’t register one time and I’ve had points awarded at the start of a game without plunging the ball a couple of times. After that,I’m trying to work out where these bugs are.Granted ,I dont complete 18 holes very much ar all,so maybe I’m missing something.

When I got my NGG earlier this year it had the 1.2 code on it. Multiplayer was super bugged when switching between players, ramps wouldnt open etc and reset when it switched. Also the Hole in 1 was random with finishing puts and giving the hole in one award. When I upgraded to the 1.3 code all those issues went away. Game plays pretty good now. I have noticed if the ball is moving fast enough sometimes the opto sensors dont register the lock behind bud, its rare though.
