Well done on your diagnosis so far.
Quoted from izzicat:But my real question is "am I missing something here"? Can you come up with a reason why 2B is actually meant to engage before the 5th iteration of 1A? Is something else going on?
When a 500 or 5000 point target is hit it fires the C or D relay. After the momentary pulse from the target switch the C or D relay holds itself on until the normally closed Score Motor 2B switch opens which shouldn't be until after the 5 pulses from the 1A switches. The Score Motor should keep itself running past the 2B switch pulse until the switch at 1C opens.

So the sequence would be:
- Target switch closes
- C or D relay fires
- Score Motor starts
- 5 pulses generated as the 1A switch closes
- C or D relay relaxes when the 2B switch opens
- Score Motor stops when the 1C switch opens
If one or more of your Score Motor cam followers are damaged that could mess up the sequence.
