Hi All

Hoping someone can assist with the following question; on the Atlantis playfield next to the number give roll over is a 1000 or special when lit roll over. Cannot get this roll over to score any points when lit it not lit. Can someone provide some assist here please. Actual switch is fine and I do have continuity on the terminal with the yellow and brown wire down to the large jones plug marked M on my machine

Cannot seem to get any continuity on the off white wire. I do have a schematic but am not sure what that switch is called exactly

Any help is most appreciated

So...this is a Gottlieb Atlantis.
I'm too lazy to get up and fish out the schematics.
But, since the rollover is "1000 or Special", that means there must be a make/break switch in the circuit.

You'll find the actual switch on the right most side of the schematics.
Then it's likely that the circuit encounters the make/break. Once branch will go to the M relay (to score 1000). The other branch will go to the special circuit.

I'd check that make/break switch.

It's called the "Special" rollover on the schematic, and Chris is correct - check the 9th position make/break switch on the Sequence unit. That switch diverts the logic to score either 1000 or Special.

(The switch is at about index position 8G on the schematic)

Hello all

Just wanted to follow up with what I found to be the problem here. First off, a big thanks to all those that helped me here on the forum. You guys are great! This newbie could not do it without you

The problem was the switch on the back of the rotating stepper assembly that hand in the bottom of the playfield in the right side. There is a switch there that is in one position from 1-8 rollovers and then when the ninth rollover is completed the stepper rotates again and the switch then opens on the one side and closes on the other. Guess you sort if have to see it and my description is probably horrid. Anyway, the make break switch on the back of the stepper was bent and probably dirty and this was causing the special (free credit) to not work when the special light was lit

Just a switch out of adjustment

Hope that helps all others

Awesome George. Glad you found it.
Atlantis is a lot of folks "desert island pin".
I love mine...and can't ever see it leaving.

Hey Ron, did I miss something? When did you get the Atlantis? Congrats - I can't wait to play it!

Warren, yes i got one a while back, likely shortly after we saw each other at Nitro , now all cleaned up and ready to play except for some acorn nuts i was fighting with re-installing

you're welcome over anytime

Congrats on the fix.

... but I'm wondering if the switch could have been intentionally bent by an operator to avoid extra credits. *gasp*

Atlantis is a great game.

Hey Otto

Never thought if that. Very possible as it was bent a good amount. Given that the metal "bar" that makes that switch close only does so when you get pretty far along in the game, it would make sense that it was bent intentionally and not just as a course of use. I noticed that switches condition when I was initially cleaning up the machine and did not think much about it. Lesson learned. Thanks Otto
